Back in the day when I was a teenager I seem to remember seeing tons of '84 to '87 Regals on the road. It was as if they were everywhere. Most weren't turbos, but they were Regals none the less. This makes me wonder what happened to these cars? Overall they were pretty durable cars and had a solid body and drivetrain which explains why I still see quite a few on the road to this day. So with all of the Regals produced, WHY IN THE HELL CAN'T I FIND A DECENT HEADER PANEL IN ANY JUNKYARD IN AMERICA THAT ISN'T CRACKED OR BEAT TO SH*T??

I'm at the point where I'd willingly whore myself out and voluntarily provide the filling in a Hillary Clinton and Janet Reno sandwich for a decent OEM header panel. Now I'm done with my rant. :) Thanks and have a nice weekend.

I've been going to junkyards since I've owned my car and most regals are78-83. Every 84-87 has a broken header panel. I found one 86 one time with a nice black header panel and as I was walking up to it a guy pried the hood open with a big prybar and crushed the panel right in front of me. I got a good one from my $500 parts car. It's been sitting for a while waiting to get painted. During my move a week or so ago my toolbox fell on it and crushed it.

Unfortunately many of the n/a regals were made into stock cars. Two years ago the local junkyard had a dozen g body regals, now they only have four.:( Out of the 12 regals they had, prolly 2 or 3 had a decent headerpanel.

I noticed the lack of 86/87 Regals in the 'yard too, I think they are still a very popular body style, among many genres..

Maybe they all became Derby cars? :(

My old regal still has a good header panel. It's sitting in the junkyard now as a result of my brother rolling it down an embankment. The hood and header panel are the only body pieces not damaged. So I know there is at least one!

I just picked one up recently from BWEAVY for my 86 Limited. He seems to have some laying around. I think he went to Bowling Green this week but should be back Monday.
