Has anyone ever kept their Turbo Buick from leaking oil out of the rear main seal? Is it even possible to get these engines leak proof?

Rear Main

Getting a silver dollar size drip after I park overnight. Are there different makers of seals? Anyone have a better experience with one brand compared to another?

Have you replaced the seal lately? I'd think any rear neoprene seal will work fine and stop the leak completely. I've been using ROL brand. If it's leaking sitting there, obviously it's leaking more while driving. The job only takes a two or three hours. I don't use the side plugs.......just fill the grooves with ultra gray RTV until it oozes out the sides of the main cap.

You can pay from $3 to $13 for a rear seal. They are all the same. I had a problem with a rear seal leak 2 winters ago. 4 different companys --same seal.

Leaking seal.

I just got the car today. I will probably stop over at Aggressive performance and see how much Bruce is charging.
