Legal Street Racin in Chicago

Man, talk about a cool city!.

Yep, real live legal street racing.

Every so often they have all the traffic stop, and you toss a guy 40 cents, and then they use a gate for starting. Object is there are 6 or more starting gates, and then just 2 lanes further on down the road. Kinda odd, but usually 1/2 mile down from the starting gates, they usually have 65 MPH speed limit signs.

Had alot of fun with a 7 series BMW, seems like he thought he wanted ahead of my truck, justa 3/4t 454 GMC'er, LOL. At about 55 he was like a kid on a gokart rocking back and forth trying to out pace da ol 454, LOL. He should be proud thou, he did get second place.

Oh, and the best part is they put up these big signs, but to confuse the out of otwners, they call the place a toll booth.

Street Racing is illegal and a dangerous activity, any simularities between this and the truth is accidential.

EXCELLANT, Bruce LMFAO I know what you mean. I hate going thru Chicago and their roads suck Always under construction.
Must be the way they build them, JOB SECURITY So the road workers are never out of a job.

Chicago only has two seasons, winter and construction....try the winter season sometime. I'm sure it'll be easier driving

Great post Bruce, when I have to visit Dallas on biz about twice a year and get to hit the GWB turnpike north and west of the city in the rental car I figure the go pedal should go to the mat after every payment to the troll and whoever is in the other 6 lanes are fair game Just have to watch out for the "chaser" cars at the booths from time to time Hopefully Avis doesn't have the little black boxes recording redline from time to time
