age old question but i never seen a thread on it yet and would personaly like to know and i bet there are hundreds out there who would love to see the results as well

i personaly went with the rjc girdle honestly because it was cheaper lol

i got a used girdle and baught all the hardware arp studs and all separate for around 250 dollars

now main caps are about 400-450 for all four.

what are the flaws in either design and i know both are proven but why did you go the route you went based on what facts and experiences?

My experience.....
I ran a 109 with 3 caps and a steel crank for 3 years, hundreds of 10-9 sec runs and about 1000 street miles. Eventually the main webs cracked to the point where you couldn't turn crank with the heads off. IMO caps or girdle doesn't really matter, the block is still the weak point.

I had most of the oil pan girdle studs break at one point. I have also seen the stock main caps walk with a girdle and hardened crank. I run steel mains w/ the RJC girdle, billet crank, no problems yet. But I don't push it as hard as I use too.
