Anyone use umi lift bars, or instant center brackets with LCA's on a lowered car?

If so how does it hook?
Ride quality?

Thanks Joe

The problem you may run into is loss of ground clearence if you use the lower ones. The old southside maching bars had a very bad habit of ripping the lower mounts off the frame. As far as an IC reloction check with kevins. His site is baseline suspension and he makes the brackets for the uppers but you need his replacement upper arms to use them. Yes, he drives the car fairly often I believe.;)

Thanks, i checked out Kevins site, and now im even more confused.

My car is lowered 2" and i know that alters the instant center.
I plan on lots of racing with this build. Im just not sure which direction to go to get the 60' times down and hook up in a lowered car. I need to box or replace the lca's but im not sure about the rest

Thanks Joe

Hi Joe,
I sent you a PM but do not guess what parts you need. Plot the suspension out and Plan which parts you need.

It doesn't take anything fancy to get an 11 sec car in the low 1.5's, even 1.4's. We have done it on drag radials and an air bag with stock bushings. I didn't throw parts at my suspension until I was in the 9's.

Nice, thanx rob. I was really only planning on boxing or upgrading the lowers for now. With a little bracing

Thanks Joe

If you are wanting to make changes that improve traction, you must change the geometry of your rear control arms. What Kevin is doing is the only correct way to go. Bowing in the lower control arms makes the arms stronger but does nothing for traction. You must change the angle of the upper bars so that they move downward when going from the diff to the frame.

I was thinking about get his adjustable kit for the uppers some time soon. They nice and super strong. I would really rather get all new heavy duty uppers and lowers while im at, but ah yea. Thats gonna be a little while still to afford all that.

Thanks Joe

These bars have solid bushings which makes them like a hinge. They can pivot up and down, but can't twist when the car rolls over an uneven surface. Something has to give and it's the poor welds that fasten the lower connecting points to the frame. I tried to pass this information on years ago and was viciously attacked by the vendor who was trying to sell his solid bushed lower control arms. It never ceases to amaze me the lengths people will go and the lies people will tell to defend some thing they stand to make a profit on. Ive used spherical rod ends for years. They can move in any direction and will not bind. There are spherical ends available for Kevin's kit.
