I've been chasing down my lifter noise around the #6 piston area in my new engine with the revolution x roller cam. I tore it down today (removed intake) and found that the #6 roller lifter on the intake goes about 7/8 of the way down and then catches on some burr or something in the lifter bore. If you push down hard on it it will push on through and then make contact with the cam lobe. Here's my question, will this eventually "wear" into a groove and then the noise stop or should I be concerned about it slapping the cam lobe. Can I just tighten down the rockers a little more past the 25 lbs or torque or leave them alone? I'm still on my breakin oil with 300 miles on the engine......I'm going to be running mobil 1 after the break-in period. I'm worried that the lifter is getting marred up on the side and may not ever slide in the lifter bore like it should. I also removed #4's roller lifters and they had the same issue in #6 intake, so it's a bore issue and not a lifter issue........any ideas????????
Here's a pic for what it's worth, the scuffing on the lifter is on the end.....
