Recently old reliable, our 2000 civic (not riced out, great little economy car), has started to lose the a/c compressor. It started out a little noisy, but now it's to the point it has to be fixed. Does anyone know of Honda site that is actually informative like our TURBOREGAL website??? I am mechnically inclined, thanks to the GN ;) Never worked on the Honda other than basic maintenance. Just need to know what to do to remove compressor.
Any links or info will be greatly appreciated:)

TIA

P.S.
After looking on the web for this, I am almost sure i can find a killer body kit and upgrade to the VTEC engine with little to no problem. LMAO

Give me a call, or shoot me an e-mail. We have some brand new, not rebuilt a/c compressors for these cars, and they're fairly inexpensive.

I don't know of any good Honda sites but...
I can help you out, I'm factory trained with both Honda and Acura.

Do you have the equiptment to evacuate and recharge the system?

Mike

Thanks everyone:)

Took the Honda to the local goodyear to confirm it's the compressor and yep that'a it alright. They wanted close to $1200 to do it  They told me the compressor itself is $800  I declined for obvious reasons.
I am gonna email Savanna Auto air to see how much I can get one for and do the work myself. I took a good look at the compressor and how it is mounted and it looks fairly easy to get to from the bottom. I do not have the equipment to recover the system, but I am confident I can find a shop that will evacuate the system for me and do a recharge after i replace the compressor. I am NOT going to vent it into the air, I will do this the right way or not at all.
Also, the mechanic at goodyear said I should replace another component whenever the compressor is changed, I just cannot remember the name of that component.
TOPFUEL,
If I run into any problems, I will shoot you an email. Thanks
I am sending an email to Savannah Auto Air now:)

I replied to your e-mail.

New compressor: $281.22.

You also should replace your drier and expansion valve ($25 or so each).

Take care, and call or e-mail with any questions.

Brett
