Looking for driver side "wide bevel trim" option parts

I am looking for driver side only what was referred to as the "wide bevel trim" option parts.
This is the stainless steel and / or aluminum unpainted trim: preferably NOS or undamaged parts.
Top of door sill / ledge unpainted trim piece.
Lower section of door trim piece.
Behind front wheel cutout trim piece.
Front of rear wheel cutout piece.
If you've seen my '87 white Turbo Buick you know what trim pieces I am talking about.
This trim was also an option on the "Limited" model. Driver side only.
Also looking for driver side front wheel trim outline. This is considered and referred to as "brightwork".
It will not be painted but look almost chrome like in appearance.
I would prefer NOS on everything.

I have two pieces driver & pass doors but painted black- would they be what you re looking for if I had the paint stripped off?

What pieces? At the top of the door sills or at the bottom of the doors?
In either case I would be interested depending upon what they look like stripped.
Pics would be required.

The dewstrips on the top outside edge of the doors? I ll get them this weekend and strip the paint- will send pics. Very reasonable-$20. each or $50. Shipped for both.

These are really not dew strips that I am aware of. These were part of an adornment package option as described above. The top of the door sill are brightwork; a metal strip of aluminum or stainless steel about 2" wide & the length of the door sill. If you want to send me a pic or post a pic before stripping I will let you know if that is what I am looking for before going to the work of stripping them.

I was talking about the metal trim on the top of the door edge next to the window glass, I'm taking the 2" wide strips off the top of the outside of the door off my 84 GN to put the narrower 86/87 GN type on.

That sounds like the strips that I am after. Are those dew sweeps?

Yes - it removes dew or other moisture off the glass window. I ll send pics on Sat/Sun.

The wide chrome is not attached to the window sweep....they are two separate pieces. I had a awful time finding the correct window sweeps for my car...which is not a Limited. They are "Regal Limited" specific but they are also for the non-limited Regal's that had that specific "bright chrome" ornamentation option....like mine.

Are you sure that yours are chromed, although it does look like chrome.
The wide bevel option was semi-polished on all of the parts.
Don't happen to know the GM part # of that part, do you?
Is yours 1 or 2 parts?
Mine appears to be 2 parts assembled at the factory or suppliers.
One piece slides into the other piece and then pressed together.

"Chrome" trim are usually what people call the pieces around their windshields....on the trunk lid...hood...anything that appears to be "chrome". They are actually anodized aluminum. Mine ARE chromed....I sent all of it out to have it chrome plated.

My wide trim piece that sits on top of the door is two pieces (like you say)...you can see the parting line behind the mirror in that picture I posted. They do slide together. The window sweeps are separate and are not permanently attached to the trim. If you also need the "sweeps", only the LIMITED sweeps will work with the wide trim....like our cars have.

I don't know the part number of the GM pieces you're looking for....sorry.


If you look closely on this picture you can see the outer sweep doesn't have a black or chromed edge that lays over the door like the cars that don't have the wide trim. It's got a soft rubber lip....like a oil seal would have...

Yes, mine has the wide bevel at the bottom of the car. It was built 9-86...a very early 87 model. It looks exactly like a Limited on the outside but isn't a Limited. The car was optioned that way. My guess is the dealer ordered it with all the chrome trim without actually ticking the "limited" option on the checklist.




There is a thread I started in the Members Rides, Family and Friends section while I was restoring the car but all the pictures are gone. I'm trying to get them back up. The thread is located here.

Many thanks for the pic. My white exterior, maroon interior '87 turbo Buick was ordered the same as yours by the original owner. I bought mine in '03 with 81XX miles on the clock and just recently turned 31K.
