my setup is:

stock block/heads
stock intercooler
60 lb injectors
tt chip/alky
alky injection
pte 61 turbo
3 inch dp and exhaust

Built turbo 350 trans with 3200 stall.

I know its not at its full potentional and where does it need to improve at?

Or is there something better turbo wise?

Bigger turbo won't do anything with stock heads. The 61 is capable of making some really good power. Heads and cam would give you the biggest increase. I would also upgrade the intercooler if you have the cash.

I have no real power goals, but Im looking for some power and not even sure what it is at now.

Its a street ride, but will be raced and it sits around 20.

It hasnt been on the track

What cam or is it a stock bowl port for the heads?

I would put my money in to a good stock location stretch IC. You have a bottleneck right now with your stocker. Thats all you need. Turn up the boost to around 23-24 psi and your mid-11's (with traction) all day long.

Also if your injecting meth at 20psi make sure your looking at your A/F numbers. Do you have a wideband? Thats not alot boost to be dumping a ton meth. M eth is for knock prevention only. On 93 octane at 20psi you should just be injecting a small amount of meth to get rid of detonation. A bigger IC will change that parameter by allowing more/better airflow. Keep that in mind.

Depends on how much power you want and much money you want to spend. If you plan to keep it on 20's without a drag radial you can't put down too much power. What are you trying to beat?

Its just on 20s till my new drs come in for my other wheels. I have the traction figured out and its not that bad on the 20s just spins alittle bit more.

Im wondering what my turbo is maxing out at hp and psi.

Im building another one that will be alot less in weight and run damn good 1/4 times since it was a 383 truck and ran 10s.

There is a chart showing the max power for your turbo.

If you wanted to squeeze a little more power out of it I would definitely say to get a cam, stretched SLIC, and port your heads.

Fullthrottlespeed is running a special on everything so you could easily get those three parts from him and cheaper than usual.

hmmmmmmm so say my motor is making 580 at the flywheel how much is that getting to the wheels?

Run of thumb with the v8s stuff is that I loose 100hp threw my drivetrain and is this correct infomation?

10-20% that sound more like 20%

10% loss is 58hp
15% loss is 87hp
20% loss is 116hp

So I would think it's safe to assume anywhere between that range. I would guess more on the higher end of things personally. Also if you ever get a chance to go to the track the MPH will tell you the hp you should be making.

alright well is the gainss worth getting the cam/head work, etc...

before you change/buy/do anything...get it dialed in and see what it runs.

If the tune is on and you do cam/heads/intercooler id expect 125+hp increase at 25psi. I picked up nearly 13mph doing just that back in the late 90's where a stock long block went 11.88@112 with the stock turbo/stock intercooler. Then the same engine went 124+mph when i added a 212/212, PT54, and Precision FMIC. I needed a re-burn on the chip to max the injectors out from 5000rpm and up and had my own diy alky kit that was supplying a lot of methanol to the help fuel the engine. I only had 43lb/hr injectors and i had the pressure up to about 50psi zero boost/zero vacuum. With your current setup you are way over turboed.

Thank you!

With the porting of the heads should I just do the bowls or do the whole things?

Also what kinda cam is good and Im still wanting to keep this streetable and not tear into the motor alot.

I do have a ta49 also, if that will make more power Ill go back to it.

The more bowl work, short turn grinding, and better the valve job is the better the heads are. Id use a comp 206 cam and run the 49 till you get heads on the engine. It will spool faster and be more fun.
