You need to start reading a lot more on these forums. Under $5k wont get you 10's.

really ? :D :D :D  bison just might be right :) if you want to make more that one or two 10 sec. passes (if any ) and avoid towwing and new motr build it will take more that $5k for to do it from what you have right now ,but we all have to start somwhere .

Yes your right. It absolutely could be done under $5k but i doubt things like the trans would hold up. People usually think about the engine. If the trans is in top shape and the engine is not detonated it will take the 30+psi usually required to hit the mph needed to run 10's unopened. Some think they are close running 11.20's at 25 psi and that 30 will do the trick. Usually thats where they get caught with their pants down and lean out/detonate and its all over. Some cant even do it with that additional $5k. lol. Use high octane. Words of caution.

What about this?

Would it be smart to do the following, Get the basic things on the todo list provided, like fuel pump scanmaster etc or lm1/2, no turbo, DP or IC. Spend about $1500.00 now. Learn the car and what makes them tick, until it gets to cold for track time. Get the 4.1 tore down and in to the machine shop, get turbo, IC, Turbo 400 trans, And supporting items over the winter and start next year with a new out look. Or is that overkill? Heres why I ask, I do not want to put new heads and what nots on an engine that seems fine and has no known issues or is a 3.8 safe in the low 11s, seems more that the trans is the issue at those times, do the trans keep the 3.8? I dont at this time want to cut up the car for a roll bar, and not really sure I will ever want to.

is it NOT how it goes ...amen ... last time I tried that with BUILD 200R4 took 5 to 6 (poor passes ) and it snaped ,I am not saying can not be done , in my case the TUNE was poor loading the car at the take off , badddd... 60' times and when it kick in it broke the BUILD 200R4 trans like nothing , here is true 10 sec deal .. yullose .. http://www.turbobuicks.com/forums/buick-v6-turbo-tech/59439-my-90-day-10-sec-buildup.html I don't mean anything by that ,please trying to be realistic about it ....ready guys .....TH400 and trans brake ...1.50 60' time , that is your 10 sec secret on unopened block ;) by the way .... anybody with unopened block and 200 R4 lunching off the brakes trying to get into ten's ...hmmmm ...hmm ,my name is Peter Griffin ( family guy ) ...hmmmmm ..hmmm. good luck fellows !!! ...or is it possible ??????????????( no crazy waight reduction tricks here ,ok'?)...anybody done that ????

As of now. I have recieved the new fuel pump and hot wire kit, bought a PTE FMIC, should get the new TE60 turbo this week. Emailed Eric at TT and may have to go back to a stock setup. Not sure what to do about a logger etc. I dont think it will work with the old halltech. Could use some advice on spending money to go stock with chips or go with something else. Thanks, if anyone can speak the halltech F3 fuel managment system lingo please help. Scott
