Loud bang at top of second gear. Won't go into gear. Any ideas on what I broke??

Hello all. I'm new here, great forum by the way. Can anyone give advice on what I may have broken in my 2004R trans? It's supposed to have a hardened input shaft and was just rebuilt with all new clutches. I was at the top of second gear when the loud bang happened. no smoke this time, but it won't go into any gear. Also any recommended trans shops in the Boston, MA area. Thanks all, Dan

possibly broke the pump rotor ,turbine shaft or forward drum.pull off a cooler line and crank over the engine to see if you have fluid pressure.if you do its a broken mechanical item.we have a 200 page book on the trans you may be interested in if your going to do the work yourself.step by step repair and rebuild.

Thanks for the reply. I thought it might be a lack of fluid pressure (the pump) or the input shaft. I have heard positive things about your manual, and am very interested in it. Is there a number I can contact you at to order one? I have had nothing but problems with this transmission, which is from a supposedly reputable shop on Long Island. Thanks again, Dan
