I will use what ES 1 posted as it is very close to what has been proven for years. There is not a "best" or only one receipe, but variations that work for different owners.Here are my changes/comments to the list above:

First, here in the desert, even our good days [nights] at the track are very seldom the most optimum weather conditions with density altitude rarely below 3500'. This is one reason we use unleaded race gas or a blend with pump gas and not alchy injection. Very hard to tune with alchy and a slight miscue will take out a head gasket. This is not putting it down, just experience with a few cars alchy equipped.

We have used 36# injectors to get there, but 50#'s work great also.

The THDP would NOT be an option!

His mention of an upgrade I/C is also a beneficial idea.

The MT drag radials have already shown to be the best DOT approved track tire.

He did not mention, but am sure you will NOT have the stock air cleaner in use?

This further "assumes" maintaince items are current and trans is in good condition.

As there are many variables such as track conditions, weather, driving skill and overall condition of car, your times may vary or take a few tries to get to your goal. This is a reliable and achievable plan that is not real expensive, and retains another important element - fun!:)

wow with all the combos i see running 12's i should be there too but i'm not...
help me please....mods are...030 over je pistons, walbro 340 hot wired,"009" turbonetic stage 3, turbotweek chip,ported heads and intake,kenne bell cam, kenne bell ram air,K&N, 160 stat, scan masterII,...
car has run the best of 15.00 at 95mph with 18lbs boost and 100 oct

ou did not mention down pipe and exhaust mods, but unless you cat is clogged you should be doing way better. Something is wrong, I suggest doing some serious reading on the GN T-type org.

You should be running EASY 12's.

You're down a good 100hp!

Something is way wrong.:confused:

Do you have a dump pipe? If you do open it up and see what it does.

I second looking at the cat conv.

Mike, is that the same chip I made for you about 1 1/2 years ago? If so, that was a real low timing 91 octane chip (17 degrees), not much of a track chip.
If you're running 100 octane, you could run about 23* and 22-23psi boost with a chip set up for that octane.
Also, you had 4.11 gears back then, did you get some 3.42's in there?

I went 11.40 on a bone stock IC.

Stock turbo, 009's or 50's, walbro pump, alky kit, alky chip, ADJ FPR, KN air filter, sticky tires, free flowing exhuast, engine tuned..

Low 12's no problem.

This is running the stock turbo at 23-24 PSI. And assumming the engine and tranny are in proper working order.

why bother get this combo and still drive anywhere on the street. Im looking for a mid to low ten's combo now

i have a stock down pipe the exhaust has been redone with a recent converter 2 1/2 exhaust with spin tech mufflers...


eric....yeah that is the chip that you did for me i had the gears changed to 3.42.... the car actually mph'd better with the 4.11 but it runs faster with the 3.42 the best run before was a 15.20 or there abouts...i will have to go back to square one ...
because the car should run better thenit does.....
it just depressing that you put so much time and money into it and then it doesn't run....
let me readjust everything and find a starting point.....
