This is my first post on this board, but a while back Bruce suggested I come and check things out.
I always feel like the "lone defender" of the 200 on several other forums, so I figured that I'd see what's going on over here.

There are two things that I have been wondering.

What has the fastest pass been in a 2004R equipped turbo Buick?

Same question but with a conversion/transplant car?

I figured the builders would know what they had running out there.

Thanks
B

To give your post some love, I have seen a few 9's in 06 on the 200 4R so you have some room to grow with yours ( as long as you have billet parts ). ;)

Thanks Doc.

I was sure there were some GNs in the nines, but not to sure about the conversion cars. But... I DO have all of the billet internals and a 20lb. nitrous bottle ready for a trip to Sacramento.

It will go nines or it will go home busted!:D

I'd still like to hear from some more folks with some more numbers.

Thanks again,
B

My daughter Melissa has gone 10.10 @ 132+ with drag radials and street trim in her daily driver with Bruce's parts  . Russ Merritt did the trans  She has a little over 8200 miles on it . Matter of fact I just got home from giving it it's nitely beating  :p

Thanks Grumpy! I'm glad to see a street driver with the miles on it (reliable!)and still pull off the ET like you/she did.

GN/GTO, thats a beautiful '65 you have there. It looks pretty proper. Very nice!

I believe Jason Cramer (Race Jace/RJC owner) is the only TSM car to still use the 2004R still. He runs 9.77@139. Now, remember Jasons car is a 3,610 lb car with driver.

What package did you get done for your trans by Bruce? I'm still waiting on mine to get built, but just gotta hope Bruce gets well soon, since he's sick now and cant build mine. Good thing mine's first in line to be done!

Jurassic, I have no idea where you got that about Jason being the only 200 in TSM but that is incorrect.
See ya, Kip

I am barely in the nines at 9.94 on DR's with my 200 from Lonnie Diers...Gonna really test it out this year in Indy unless I sell the car : ) One of my bestest friends is right at the mark at 10.0's with his 200. A well built 200 will last in the nines..Just may have to freshen it every season if you race alot.

Scott, No Indy this year brother. You will have to find another race to "test it out" at.

Another plug for Lonnie's 200s, I have run bottom 10s for three years now on one of his trannies. Bottom 10s= 10.0xs.

Take care, Kip

Art Carr told me this and Jason says it on Arts site. NEWS

That's where I got it from.

Jason runs Arts 9inch N/LU converter.

I don't have a problem with that eithier.. She takes this car everywhere .. re clutching it is no big deal ..or in her case we are goin to have 2 trannys  Heavens forbid she misses a race

Maintenance on a trans is no different than anything else. Engines, diffs, trannys, they all need more and more attention if you expect that much out of them.

I twisted an output shaft earlier this year and tore it down to change it. All of the internals that I looked at really showed no signs of wear. I was really surprised at how little wear the intermediate band and direct drum had.
This was with just about a year of use on Bruce's internals.

To answer Jurassic's question, I purchased all of the internals from Bruce and installed everything myself at home. He was really great with the advice and had no troubles giving me some support over the phone.
This was an Art Carr trans that I put in the car back in '92, with a few upgrades along the way. I finally bellied up to the good input shaft, OD planet, OD planet ring grear, and the complete "RSA" drop in package not quite two years ago.

When I twisted the output shaft, I discovered the problem on a Thursday night trying to install a new driveshaft. Friday AM, Bruce shipped out a replacement red label/Saturday delivery for only the cost of the freight! I had the car running by Saturday afternoon.
It's time to check it again here just for kicks, but hopefully the failure was just from so many years of abuse.

Hey Jurassic, do you know a gentleman by the name of Mike Crow from Topeka? He has a red '73 Cuda that he races a fair amount. You may have seen him at the local strip.

He's a really good guy if you ever get the chance to meet him.

the faster you run the more ya have to "watch" them
