this maybe a dumb question but what are the advantages to the LT1 and translator over the factory MAF other than the factory MAF's are discontinued and very hard to find good ones. are there any performance benifits with the LT1 sensors. i'm considering going to this setup but i want to learn more about it first.and are there different types of translators and if so which type is better. are these sensors better to tune with i have direct scan and a max effort 16 pos. chip are the LT1's compatible.

thnak you for your time

If you get the T+ then you have the option of being able to play with the tming.

Yes, DS, and MEs are fully functional with a Translator.

Using an extender chip also makes sure MAF Drop can't happen. With the A-T, and launch assist the Extender translator package is a good deal.

Do a 'search' in this forum for 'translater' or 'translator'. Plenty of info. there to get you started.

I did a search, because i will probably convert when stock maf dies. Just wondering will the LS1 3.5# go right into my setup now? i have the 3# maf pipe with stock maf in place:rolleyes: because my understanding is the LS1 will be around longer than the Lt1 it is newer correct?

thanks

jojo

Yes, you can use the LS1 maf with the appropriate translator. Ramchargers has the translator for either the LT1 or the LS1, so why not go with the LS1 because its a half inch bigger in diameter. And there should be a little performance gain with either because the LT1 and LS1 mafs do not use that huge venturi in the middle like the TR stock originals, so a little more flow.

It fits fine if you use a couple adapters. TR vendors sell these.

www.ramchargers.com sells the Translator, and the necessary couplers for the 3 or 3.5" meters. You may need to call them to get the coupler, I don't remember seeing them on the site. They're around $20

Bruce, does just the translator have a setting on it that will prevent a MAF reset? Or do you need the translator + with an extender chip??

Thanks in advance
