Did you machine the bottom also? mine has an O ring groove with an O ring on the bottom where it meets the intake and another one for the TB

No, I did not machine the mating surface to the lower intake manifold.

I have a stock appearing HEMCO upper intake plenum that I don't need. I ground off the word HEMCO and machined the upper ribs to look like a stock GM upper air intake. It will come with the spacer nut that is needed to mount the throttle linkage due to the the extra height. I can send you a picture of it, just sned me your email address.
