What a difference it is!!!! I always thought my DSL wasn't too slow, but boy was I wrong... The only way I can explain it, it's like going from my bolt-on 12 second driver to an 8 sec Stage2 car:eek: :D

A breath of fresh air after all the problems I had lately with the DSL and the crappy customer service from Bellsouth:mad:

My cable is twice as fast as DSL. Call your provider and tell them about it.

they keep calling me trying to get me to switch. ive told them no twice, the last time was tempting, 6megs down and a $275 "bonus" to sign. dont know though. i like my cable, but the cables 6megs down too.

I love cable...when it works.:frown: I'm on my 6th modem and have to reboot this one all the time. When Verizon installs FIOS and I can get TV from them I'm gone!

dont have FOIS where im at  , as soon as they get it here im switching, if they ever.

in southern california Road Runner Cable is super fast.

I download at a constent 650kb/s. I dont go to movies anymore or buy cd's  But I do pay for them, about 50cents a copy;)

Here is a turbo style ranking system to these high speed internets.

stock GN turbo= 56k modem
ta49 turbo = dsl
ta63 trubo = cable
t70 turbo = t1
and 100mm + turbos = t3

I had a chance to play around on a t1 system the other day, it was rediculous fast. I was downloading at about 3.5mb/s aka 3500kb/s. It was sweet, I downloaded a 800mb movie "saw 3" in like 3 minutes.

And the t3 lines have to be all registerd through the government, as long as you can get their approval:mad:

Well you can all kiss my backside. I am on 24.4 dialup and my ONLY choice is get a new sat dish and receiver and I do not want to go that route.

I long for the day when EITHER DSL or cable comes out here into the woods. At this point I would gladly take either.

I FEEL for ya Bud. I was there for 4 years but I finally got fed up with it and had Direcway installed. Wish I had done it sooner!!! Nothing like cable or DSL but a hell of a lot better than dial up. I'm probably still 5 to 7 year from getting cable or DSL where I live but that's the price I pay for solitude.

Anytime I vist my g-parents or friends with dialup, I usually go crazy to the point of turning it off. My hats of to ya!
