Got a problem with the MAF sensing the air that comes back through it when I let off the throttle. Thinking of relocating between the throttle body and inlet pipe. Ive seen this on other GN's and think this would solve my problem. Any thoughts on this?

Not sure of your problem but if car has stock ECM the MAT sensor needs only to read ambient temps and can basicly be left hanging outside of stock location to work.Moving the MAF elsewhere,Im not sure of.

Try search function under Relocate MAF. Thread by TomTomTurbo dated june 21st 2005.May help you some.

I think installing in say the up pipe would have more downsides to it than where its at now. Someone here has tried it,with pics but link ouldnt open on above thread mentioned.

Try a different chip

You may be able to fix this with a different chip. Contact Eric Marshall at TurboTweak and ask him. Also read the features of his chips after clicking on the link below. He specifically mentions a function in his chip that helps resolve this issue. There is also a hyperlink at the top of the page that goes to his support forum where you can post questions to him.

I got to technical to quick, see the problem is that when built up air pressure comes back through the MAF read's it and surges gas making the car stumble. This happens when let off the gas. I turned of the DFCO feature on the extender (Delayed Fuel Cut off) that helped alot but still slighty there. The LS1 MAF works too good. I thought if I take it out of the path of that air relieving back out the system, I could get rid of the problem.

You were probably typing your post at the same time I was when you submitted yours. Did you see the last post referring to TurboTweak?

seems to work fine in the upipe

its an easier install with the 70mm TB , 3" up pipe with the LT1 maf

Yes I know about Erick I was going to wait for when I get my alky kit before I use him. The extender is only a few months old. I hate to throw money away.

You always find out things after its to late. I did not even have that problem before the LS1 MAF-Translator-Extender. What was your reason for relocating?

by putting it in the uppipe where its a 3" line its not a retriction as it would be on the lowpressure inlet side trying to feed a 4" inlet turbo through a 3" opening ,allows me basically to be maffless to the turbo inlet still run a turbotweak chip

i could eliminate all the inlet plumbing to the turbo and not suffer from fan induced or low speed turbulance that would drive the maf crazy

The extenders have software in them to prevent this problem, but something is preventing it from working in your case.

Is there a way to get some datalog files from your car when this is happening?
(Direct Scan works well here) There are TPS and LV8 thresholds that trigger the function and I need to see where your car is running.

Well Bob, all's I have is a scanmaster. Can I get you some readings from that? Or is this no good?

You want these readings when I feel the problem? I will try to get some tomarrow.

What turbo are you using?

Ever considered a BOV. I use one to help with surge I get from a T70. Never needed one untill then.

I'm trying out FAST and no MAF soon. Maybe that will help cure it.

You have the same problem? I do belive its a TE 44 . I think the front mount IC has alot to do with it also. Because it holds such a large mass of air. Are you using a front mount? I have considered a BOV.

This is how I did the new MAF on TTA 907....No problems with the Maf in that position. :)
