Does anybody in readerland have info on how to convert a th350 to a forward pattern manual valvebody? I have a fresh th350 trans with a badly trashed gov bore so mechanically locking the gov is not an option. I would like to use this trans in my friends old Grans Sport and pitch the old 2 speed Jetaway trans. There are some VERY knowledgable people on this site, I learn somthing new almost every day. Thanks in advance!

Im pretty sure the trans-go kit mechanically locks the governor. As I said the gov bore is badly grooved. I dont think the gov will seal to the case. As for the TCI valve body, my buddy was hoping to make somthing himself as funds are VERY limited. The car has a factory console and shifter so the valve body would have to be fwd pattern. Any ideas? Thanks!

If you use the TransGo kit, just block the governor feed hole at the rear of the case instead of locking the governor which basically does the same thing.

Use the TransGo stick kit and plug both governor holes in the case. You will then need to drill a 1/8" hole in the valve body plate where the plate covers the governor pressure circuit coming from the governor. One valve body gasket already has this hole, you can use this as a drill guide. Be sure and punch a corresponding hole in the other gasket.

Heck, for fifty bucks I'll sell you the 1-2 spliter spring and provide photos and instructions for the modifications.:D

I have a service manual that shows the function of all the passages, which ones get drilled to loop gov pressure? What is this "splitter spring? The check is in the mail, I'll "cheat" your right! Thanks:D

This spring must be added between between the 1-2 shift valve and the 1-2 throttle valve. I have plenty of those springs and I'll let you cheat me out of one. Without the spring, the transmission will try and start off in second gear.
The low control valve must also be blocked with a checkball or a piece of steel tubing. One check ball is required in the case(the one by the modulator valve).
