Is the black box on the passenger side with the vacuum line attached the map sensor? If so, my map sesnor has a vacuum line going straight to the vac conn block on the intake mani.

I searched and found the thread with the vacuum diagram, but i noticed no line going to the map sensor.

any insight on how the map sensor vacuum lines run?

That is your map sensor.

It runs near the heater box, and over to the small port by the pcv valve.

Pull the hose off the map, if it has vacuum on it when the engine is running, it is working correctly. If the lights on the dash work under boost, everything is working fine.

Id replace all the hoses they are mostly 7/32 in size.

my vacuum line routing is wrong then, I'll have to find that small port.

is the only function of the map sensor to provide a signal for the digital boost gauge?

ahh, i see.
the vacuum diagram has a line going to the "boost gauge sensor", that must be the map sensor.
all makes sense now, thx.

If your car has a digital dash, then it does not have a map sensor.

my car has a digital boost gauge but has dial type speedo, etc...

boost gauge always displays max boost due to faulty chip. somebody on this forum that rebuilds them said they get oxydized or something and go bad.
