Decided on new set of injectors

I was just going to put a new injector in but I decided that I want another new set of match flowed injectors.(that's what I have now) Then I'll change the oil and oil filter again. I emailed the seller to see if he can get his money back from his supplier. The fuel pressure today is dropping to zero in less then a hour...and this morning it held overnight, so it's a intermitten problem. I like the idea above about taking the top off the intake manifold and putting some clean cloth strips in the runner at each injector and seeing which one gets wet. Maybe tomorrow after work I will have time to do that. Again thanks for all the help and ideas, I was really worried driving home Friday that I had major problems, you know that sick feeling in your gut thing....Chuck

If you had a leaker that was that bad it would loose all fuel pressure in less than a few minutes. Check for a faulty fp regulator. I changed one on my brothers car years ago that leaked fuel to the vacumm side  . It was running a little rich :D . Its unlikely but worth a look.

I had the vacuum line off today and did not notice any fuel on the top of it. Is that what I should look for? Not that it matters but, the regulator was new last fall, along with the fuel pump, hotwire kit, line gage... I wish I knew more about how the injectors worked.... and why sometimes it holds pressure at the rail and sometimes it doesn't. I'm fairly certain that in the past it always held pressure overnight.... hey guys, am I right or going crazy? I wouldn't care if the fuel is going back through the pump or the return line, I just don't want the stuff to go through the injectors and run down the cylinder walls into the oil...

Could this be an inherent problem with the 50's? My No. 1 leaks. Anybody else have leaking 50's. Let us know if the new set fixes the problem.

Monday afternoon

Hey Guys, Just a update, I drove the car to work today, 6 miles 30-45 mph. Got to work and I could see my co-worker watching my tail pipes. So I yell over to him... see any smoke? "NO" was his answer. The car seems to be fine now, when I woke up this morning it was starting to make sense. I foul a plug when I stumped it for 1-2 seconds friday morning, then drive it another 2-3 miles to work. But where is that gas to go that is not getting spark....down the cylinder and into the oil and out the exhaust valve into the exhaust manifold around the crossover pipe and through the turbo housing(pic). If that's not bad enough, after work I drive it home, another 6 miles, of course the oil pressure is dropping the pump is for oil not gas. Maybe having the pressure up to 50 lbs with the line off, put the plug over the edge ??? Or maybe the plug just quit.... don't know. I have not stomped the pedal yet (the oil is draining now as I type this) so I'm not sure if I have other issues or what. PTE rep emailed me back and said that it is very rare for a new injector to leak. But he suggested that I move the suspect injector to a new location and try that, but right now the car is back to her old self so far. And that ****ty feeling in my gut has almost disappeared..... Chuck
