Material in lid of lighted mirror visor

I'm getting the visors on my GN recovered...the pass side has the lighted vanity mirror...the flip-up lid is not all plastic...in the middle of the lid on the outside there is some visor material...small rectangular piece...about 6" x 2"...I talked to JAX and they can recover the visor but can't replace that piece of material...GM molded the plastic around the material...problem is the foam backing on that small piece is just about gone and I'd like to try and replace it...anyone ever done this...or have it done...successfully?...appreciate any info
