Do I need a three bar map to run max effort?

What kind of Maxeffort? There are different versions, MAF and MAF-less. What does the chip say on it?

Its the maffless version

You will need a 3-bar MAP then.
There were 2 versions of the MAF-less (ME-R), one that needs a Powerlogger for the MAP input, and one that needs a specially modified ECM for the MAP input. You'll need to figure out which one you have.

Eric do i need to put the air temp sensor in the uppipe? where can i get a steel bung for that?

I have an ECM that's been modified if you need it. Never been used since the modification.
