I have media center on my computer and use it to record TV programs through a dual channel translator. My question is how can I open the files so that I can remove the commercials then copy to a DVD. THe files are recorded to my harddrive in *.dvr-ms format. I cannot open the files with anything but Media Center or Windows media player. I want a free program that will allow me to delete out the commmercials and then copy to a DVD.

I use Sonic's MyDVD which came with a burner I bought a while back. Works better than anything offered by Microsoft. You may have it installed on your computer already - check and see.

I have a few SOnic programs but not My DVD. I will have to look into getting that.
