Meth is it better to run?

I just found a place close by that has meth. I also have a hardware store in my town that carry's denatured alky. So either one is accessible to me. Is one better to run than the other?

Either meth or denatured will work. I've ran both. It's just that meth is usually cheaper than denatured.

it's also known as Methyl Hydrate

I can get it at Home Depot for $6.00 a gallon

Paint stores have is also. it's pretty popular for stripping wood furnature.

i dont think they sell methyl hydrate in the US, but they do in canada... i saw this in another post before.

Wow, and here I was spending $15 for a can of denatured alky.

Is this methyl hydrate sold in the same section as Acetone, Denatured Alky, etc....????

If so I'm off to Lowes, please let me know.

If you have a racing go cart shop in your area check with them....they run meth and will probably have it. I get mine at one, $5 gallon with no top lube addititives.

basically it is ethanol that has been poisoned so people can not consume it

Found the Right Thread!!

I have almost 100 gallons of METHANOL left over in 55 gallon drums I was using to make BioDiesel. Due to circumstances beyond my control that operation is suspended and wondered about using the Methanol in pure form as fuel for my mostly stock T-Type.

I've heard a 50/50 mix is good....but I've just read that 100% is fine too.

ethanol is safe in high ratios to gasoline for the most part in our tanks, given the chip to match the fuel is installed, but i would not put more than a gallon of methanol in the tank at a time if that! it can be highly corrosive and if too much is used your A/F ratio could be compromised!

Generally we put the methanol in a plastic reservoir and spray it into the inlet pipe to cool the air charge and what not. Not as a fuel in the gas tank. hth
