Many people don't know but the drug trafficing organizations have bled across the boarder and are now taking over the drug trade in the U.S. We have been battling them for about the last five years in almost a full-time capacity in my agency, and others.

welcome to the wild wild everything, no doubt our armed forces will be in there to apprehend the major players in this deadly game and then set up a puppet government, being that this is a next door country, a berlin type border wall will not curtail the drugs or violence from spilling over to our side, sad situation that is a very beautiful country with a lot of honest hard working people

the answer sits here in the our beloved country, make very stiff prison sentences, for as long as their is a demand their will be a supplier

Asset protection..

turn the border security over to the Chinese. They don't screw w/ 30 yr prison terms. It's 30 minutes.
Afterall, it would be in thier best interest to secure this country.. They are on a fast track to own it.

The Mexico Police have always been a joke ... they have been influenced by the Cartel for as long as I can remember.

As a child I remember going across the AZ border. When a buddies truck got stolen , the police didnt even care ...literally didnt even take a report. It was also always scary because RUMOR was if you got arrested over there ... you were stuck for who knows how long in jail (but money always talked) .

Totally corrupt ---

Id rather see our troops down there where it directly affects us directly then in the Middle East at this point.

That place is so corrupt on all levels from the Military to the local Police. The demand for the drugs here in the US is so strong that I have very little hope for that place unless the US Military crosses over.

There is 110 million people in Mexico. That's basically 1/3 the population of the US so unless the borders and towns near the borders are more heavily guarded the murders will continue to grow.

hey Brett these are the results of having a socialist govt. where the poor stay poor and the rich get richer with no opportunity to advance other then to work for the cartels but still it all falls back to supply and demand

I agree, makes no sense to me that we are wasting billions of dollars and worst of all human lives in the Middle East where it really has no direct affect on us. You would think priority one would be controlling our own border and trying to stabilize the country bordering us. I have no illusions that the drug trade will ever be completely under control because as others have mentioned as long as there is a demand someone will be there to supply it. The demand will always be there and naturally the violence will follow, but maybe if we just put forth half of the effort we spend in the Middle East we could improve the situation in Mexico dramatically.

Yea, there so many poor people who will have no shot at any real quality of life so they turn to drug smuggling.

Poor people anywhere have nothing, had nothing and will likely never have anything so they feel they have little to loose. The cartels just murder those type of people to silence them and no one is held accountable because they to feel they will be next.

Poverty there is like 60%. Staggering actually. Minimum wage is like $2.00 and they have no unemployment benifits obviously. And the irony is the the richest person on the planet is from Mexico..... I find that so comical.

Capitalism, will grow fantastic wealth at the very top. The incredible wealth of Carlos Slim (Richest man alive at $53 billion) in a terribly impoverished country is not an accident but a product of unregulated capitalism.

what happened to our country, i remember when jobs were plentiful, health care was not a big issue, the fathers job could support an entire family of 5 or more, college tuition was well with in reach, traveling this great country of ours was awsome, your word was your credit, men were men of their word, boys and girls clubs, some blame it on immigration, not really in my opinion, i think chasing the mighty dollar, greed and hoarding were the culprits, which lead to job sourcing out of the country ( aka as walmart ) in order to maximize profits, medical & insurance fraud, frivolous law suits and last but not least....LIBERALS and their methods of destabilizing the family core and lack of morals as a whole, i know there are some republicans with no morals but as a whole the liberals have them beat......

this is nothing that a few CIA assassination teams couldn't take care of.. those drug cartels wouldn't be very effective if the top 3 or 4 levels of leaders started turning up dead..

this has been normal for years.

its just never been in the news.

American cops from my town, elpaso and columbus have been dissapearing for along time now, nuthing new.

personally I think those filthy bastards deserved it for being mixed up in that crap. nuthing but dirty cops around here anyways.

I live in a border town, if I stand ontop of my house, I can see the border.... which isnt much more than a 4 strand barb wire fence.

if we want whats going on in mexico to stop.... legalize drugs.

thats what it is going to take.

I know cause im here.

bow to the drug lords,
There would be no drug lords if drugs were legal. Initial lashback would be bad if drugs were legalized but over a short period of time the novelty of getting drugs legally would wear off.

Would there be people hooked on them? I'm sure there would be, but that is no different then now.

Anyone anywhere who want's drugs can find them in EVERY city in this country. Making them illegal does not stop people from getting them but it would sure cut back on the violence associated with their demand and claimed territory by drug dealers and the cartels and especially gang associated violence.

Illegal drug sales are also what gives ALL gangs in this country the ability to grow and continue their criminal organizations. Without illegal drug sales ALL violent gangs in this country would have virtually no way of earning money.

no answer anytime soon

are you guys kidding, CIA team to take care of a few drug lords. heck our military trained most of the people who defected to the drug lords because they pay alot better. then the X military took over. sad to say but i don't see an end to this, there has always been crooked cops regardless of it's here or there. alot of the money that is sent back is because the people who live here and still have family back there have to pay off these thugs who just kick it up to a higher person and so on. i know several people who live in mexico been there a few times and it wasn't a pretty picture. not really a place i'd want to return to, heck i even took my own little gun back in 2000 because i was worried. yea dumb idea but it was small and i wasn't too worried, more worried about people following me and my family around. i was married to a woman who had relatives that lived in juarez and talk about getting to see a different part of mexico that most tourist wouldn't see. my current spouse has relatives in laredo and nuevo laredo. we went and visited and it still looked like a toilet. mexican drug cartels have always had the eye on the prize which is drug turf in our country and looks like they have it. they are more ruthless, more organized and just because you take one out or a head of a drug family don't think there isn't another ready to take their place. violence has been spilling over into our country for years it's just not widely known. sucks but keep your sidearm at the ready and know your surroundings at all times is the way i live. glad we have carry laws in our state as you never know what's gonna happen from one minute to the next.

Coming to a theater near you....

ive always said, they should build a 30 foot high wall with snipers on top across the entire border with those tools.

You want to come here do it legally, or get shot, would solve the entire problem overnight.

lol..... there our people anyways, the drug lords are AMERICAN OWNED and run. ever wonder where all black operations money comes from?

or that new multi billion dollar spy satelitte that you know would never fly through congress?

And for the fact, I voted for Palin. (had she been nekkid i would have done more than voted but...) I am an AVID republican. I work for the DOD, I know who pays my checks. so dont think its political. My opinion is based entirely on the experiance of living here.
