There is a difference in crippling a human, killing/covering up a murder, and killing dogs that yo may or may not have trained to be killers. I say, yeah, he is a piece, but he deserves to play again as long as the door of the jail swing wide when he has paid his "debt to society. " BTW, how many other dog fighters gave up $20,000,000 when they were busted? Will they have to be as deeply scrutinized?!
Its a double standard, nothing less... he had more to lose, so they were sure to take it all. You think they own ever plot of land that a mobile home was on where dog fights were busted? Think again.

The "others" you speak of are not in a position to be role models as Michael Vick was. He was, is and always will be a POS in my opinion and I don't want any little kid playing back yard football looking up to that loser. "Daddy, I wanna be just like Michael Vick".... makes me sick.

Remember when he got caught trying to carry pot onto a commercial flight??

JANUARY 18--Miami police are investigating NFL star Michael Vick after airport screeners yesterday seized a water bottle from him at a security checkpoint and later discovered that the bottle included a "concealed compartment" that appeared to contain a small amount of marijuana. According to a Miami-Dade Police Department report, a copy of which you'll find below, the Atlanta Falcons quarterback was "reluctant to turn over his water bottle during the screening process" at Miami International Airport (the athlete was booked on an AirTran flight to Atlanta). Vick subsequently relinquished the 20-ounce Aquafina bottle, which was placed in a recycling bin by a Transportation Security Administration screener. Suspicious as to why Vick hesitated in handing over the bottle, TSA screener Gertrude Joseph retrieved the bottle, notified her supervisor, and brought the item to the TSA operations center. There, officials discovered that the bottle's label "contained a seam which separated the top and the bottom of the bottle. Both ends were sealed by clear partitions and what appeared to be a silicone sealant." The concealed compartment, the report notes, contained "a small amount of dark particulate and a pungent aroma closely associated with Marijuana."

A leopard never changes his spots...like i said was, is always will be a POS.

Not to hit a fit, but....
What you are saying, Carrying pot on a plane (I bet 50%+ people on this thread have smoked pot, and carrying and doing is equally illegal), and killing dogs is in fact worse than killing a human (or being a part or a conspiracor of) or doing cocaine before a game, and being caught more than twice is better. Vick is worse?! He himself killed no animals, but supposedly told others to do so. He has not confessed to taking ones life himself has he?
He did what A LOT of rappers do, and a lot of other people who get caught and pay far less. There are more people that we live with daily who have injured, crippled or killed a person needlessly for driving under the influence, and this disgusts you?! This made people mad because he is rich and irresponsible and we all saw it coming. Nobody is surprised he acted like a thug. I have met the guy, I wired his house here in ATL, I can tell you I was not that surprised. He is a big kid, and thinks like a kid IMO...he didnt impress me as an adult.
If he wasn't a high $ athlete, it'd never made the news. As long as innocent babies are legally killed in the womb everday, this will never be a big deal to me.
babies > dogs where I come from, regardless of the crazy laws of this God forsaking country.

Vick will be allowed back, even if he is a scumbag... on the Dallas Cowboys I'd bet. Tank Johnson abused his pit bulls also...although not as sick as Vick. Johnson just neglected his, keeping them in cages out in the heat without food or water. He also kept loaded guns within reach of his young child.

Pacman Jones pounded a strippers head to the floor and then his posse shot and crippled a security guy for life. Jerry Jones has no conscience when it comes to picking up these bums so Vick will fit in perfectly there.

Yup, ol' JERKY JONES would sign him in a heartbeat! The Cowboys have sunk so low (below the surface) since the Tom Landry days... :(

Very well said. If Vick was not in the lime light this story would never see the light of day. I too am shocked how dogs have more rights then humans but its ok to hunt and kill Deer. What did they do? Why are they not protected?

Everyone that I know that hunt deer also eat what they kill. Granted they could just as easily buy chicken from the market but what did the chicken do? Although some cultures may eat canine flesh, I doubt that Vick grilled any of his dogs for a Sunday afternoon gathering of his "dawgs".

There is a difference between a hunter and someone who abuses animals and yes, deer are protected. That's why you have to have a license to hunt them and a limit to how many can be taken. In my area, many more are probably killed yearly by automobiles (my T got an 8-pointer :frown: ) than are killed during season not to mention the thousands + of dollars they cost in insurance and out of pocket expense for the unlucky motorists.

Then you have the clean-up cost for the DOT and the untold damage to farm crops and gardens. With all of the natural predators no longer around, population growth is uncontrolled. Face it. Deer are pretty to look at and "Bambi" is a real tear jerker but bottom line is, deer are pests, not pets.

I know this thread was about Vick being allowed to play so my take on it is that no, he shouldn't be allowed back in the NFL but just like the rest of the "role models" already mention he probably will be. Should they be there, no, but they are, so many say then "Why not Vick?", well, two wrongs don't make it right. We can always hope that society will start doing the right thing. Here is as good of a place to start as any.

No one tortures, beats their heads on concrete or electrocutes deer just for fun like piece of human dog **** Vick did. It's his inhumanity that is his problem!

He has done the crime, he did his time. His debt has already been paid by serving his sentence in jail. In my eyes he is good to go. He ain't OJ:D . Whats the point of serving time if he is never going to be given a chance again? I am not condoning his actions, but I am not going to continue to penalize him when he already done his time. He lost more then any local would have in the same situation. You guys have your view and I have mine. I guess we will agree to disagree and move on. just my 2 cents
