I'm amazed at how many people advertise that they have a mid 10 sec. car when all they do is build a "10 sec combo" and automatically it's a "mid 10 sec" car. I had a "10 second" combo for the last couple of years and the car never went tens until I built a 9.99 combo. I don't think those people know what it takes to make a 3600lb car run mid tens. How can you never go to the track and say it's a 10 sec car?

I once heard "what's the quickest way to make a 10 sec car run 12's?"

PUT IT ON A DRAG STRIP!

I feel the same way as you!;)

Yeah I'm sitting home with a broken rearend on my easy mid 10 second car.

There's probably less than 15 board members that actually have a mid 10 sec. TR.

Well, let me know who the 14 others are, because my car has a time slip to back it up :)

i have a mid 12 sec. car.

that has never seen an 12 in its life, much less a 13. the car has problems. but i'll start calling it a 12 sec. car from now on ;)

Not me, I'm only a mid 11 second guy. Video below
http://inet5.cmsinter.net/daryl/videos/Daryl/WE4/MMM2.mpg

but yea, I DEFINATELY know what you mean. We were suppose to get 3 local guys here to go last night. 2 think they have 9 second cars, and the other said low 10's. One 9 second car has less power than my Monte Carlo did, which only went 11.10 on it's best day, and the low 10 car was running high 14's last time i saw him run. It gets very tiring listening to some of the b.s. talk.

If you have a proven 10 second car than this thread dosen't apply to you. But since you're so curious let's see if we can get 15 mid 10 second cars on this thread.

I'm first: 10.40@131.98

Las Vegas

4years ago, went 10.56@133 turbo was a 76, stagell, lots more, lots of fuel trouble, needed a FAST.

It's the internet, from the ease of your keyboard it's easy to make lots of claims.

Judging from Bowling Green's turn outs, there are in fact lots of 10 sec cars here.

Me and Littlesteve witnessed Russ Merritt run 10.4 last October. Even got it on video. So there's one more for your count.

not that many 10 second cars here? I think I beg to differ...there's TONS of fast guys on here...my goal is to reach that territory with this current combo so maybe one day you can add me to the list as well:)

Preach On Brother

If i had a dollor for every time someone told me they have a 10 sec car, But never had it to the track, I'd have atleast 37 dollors.

If you dont have a time slip from your car that says 10.999 or faster, Guess what? You have an 11 sec car.(Not saying that 11's is a bad thing)

I cansay I'm a mid 10 sec car cause I dont have a time slip that fast (I've been 10.77 @ 123)I have NO girdle.NO steel main caps & I cant afford to turn up the boost to go any faster. So if any one ask . . .

I have a 10.7 Car that runs 123 MPH in the 1/4

Just my opinion...

Classes like TSM have made the 10 sec stock block TR appear to be the norm and most of all... easy. This gives lots of folks the false assumption that because they can mimic one of the above they too have a 10 sec car or even a 9 sec one...

As stated in one of the above posts took me countless blown head gaskets, broken rockers, cam sensors,MAFs ect and most of all WORK!!!on the same basic combo before it ever ran a 10 sec pass. When it did there was no question... way in the 10s ( 10.64 at 128) on the foot brake.
;)

All the talk about the low 10 sec on high 9 cars tend to drown out the fact that there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a 11.60 car. At times this is much more impressive than a 10 oh car.
