I guess one question I have is how much meat is on the drum? Are these going to be able to be machined down the road, or one and done? Most new cars the drums are made to be replaced not machined down anymore. Just curious.
You may have missed my wording prior to the above photos the outer edge meaning the housing is thicker than my used ones on my car so I am 99% sure they will be able to be turned....should owners need to turn them at some point.
I hope to have ones to sell lat my Open House and at Richards event as will at the very least I have one to sell. Already heard from several major G body vendors that will be offering them that I sell to. IT's nice to have a product where their is only one reproduction of plus it fits such a huge variety of cars....
I have had very good luck with Cardone products....they have stood behind everything we have sold new or rebuilt never an issue.
Even power masters with as many as they have rebuilt for us over the last 8-10 years.....
Once I get my sample set I will have someone post it here. We all know the benefits of aluminum brake drums less rotating weight, disappaites heat better also weigh less than steel ones, and for the non mechanical owners like myself they look better behind a set of GNX/TTA wheels instead of seeing rusty steel drums..
A bit more news.....I took the sample Cardone aluminum drum to my buddies machine shop that turns drums...had him measure the Cardone drum...it measures 8,000 thousand over standard meaning their is plenty of material there to turn it if and when needed. Even for the requirements in PA.. I did not think that would be an issue.
.Cardone is pretty thorough when they go to make something....
Worse case we have the sample to show at our Open House and the TurboBuick RC event in May and can take orders for them....Also have some other rneat stuff for show at both events....
With these two events basically back to back those of you that reside 400 plus miles away could attend both of them since the Turbo Buick event starts the following Wednesday and catch the free lunch there of Thursday...
