has anybody heard of mizzy automotive up here in northern california in fairfield, ca i went to see how much they charged to rebuild my stock motor for 8,000 and i called other places and they all were about 5 or 6 with minor mods so unless theyre world renound thats alot of money. so bottom line all i really want to know are they worth the buck over theyre just over charging because they claim they are the only buick specialists in norther california!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you want it done right, go there. The guy has built easily 100+ turbo Buick motors there and all of them are still running. I can tell you, from my build I couldn't be happier!

The total bill for me came out a little bit higher than 8 grand. This was mainly b/c I bought all new EVERYTHING and didn't have the time to pull the motor and install it myself. The bill still came out less than what my original quote was though. I think he quotes a little on the high side so he can cover himself in case some unforeseen circumstance comes up. i.e. broken crank, cracked head, etc. The car turned out to be way faster than I had expected tho, which was definitely fine by me!

On aside note, one of the reasons i went with him over other mechanics was that every time I visited his shop, there would be some supper exotic/rare turbo buick gnx, turbo trans am festival car, or old muscle car there getting either restored or built up. If the shop is good enough for guys with way more knowledge and way more money than me to literally wait in line for service, than it's good enough for me!
