hey guys,
i was thinking of getting a pair for my car does anybody know a part number . also i wanted to know what would be the frontend weight and the spring weight for a 87 turbo t with the ac still installed in the car .thanks for any info .

Don't get them at all if you plan on driving the car at freeway speeds. I can not remember which one I have.
The car has 90-10 no front sway bar and these springs.

It is the crappiest driving car I have ever been in.
Have not been to the track (long story) but it better
60ft in the 1.3X range

springs

I had the heaviest ones for a g-body. Still had to use a .500 spacer to keep the front fenders off the tires. I took them out and bought some BLUE springs. I had a couple people tell me that Morroso pays about $ 8 for those springs. Quality control leaves a lot to be desired. If you are willing to spend twice the $ e-mail me and I will give you the info to buy a quality pair of springs (American made). IMO don/t waste your $ on Morroso. Is some people are happy with theirs---Great--I hate them, for a car to be driven.

thanks for the info guys what ireally want is a little lift to my front end when shes standing still . is there a taller spring will the blue springs give me more of a level stance the car has 90/10 schocks also the rear tires are 28 in tall i would rather not put spacers in my front springs to level it . thanks again guys.

Lee,
Tell us about these "blue" springs. I have a new set of Morosos and took them off for the same reason as you. the front is a lot lighter now but i still dont wanna run them.

Agree with all Lee's comments. My race car has them all around. Street driving is always "interesting", like no sudden moves!

It does not sit level, not supposed to I guess, as it leaves straight, and picks up the front then levels out. Do not think they are any better than the stock springs. At least then the left front tire was not rubbing the fender. If I had it to do over, would spend the money else where.

I've run the Moroso fronts for several years but hate the way it handles or lack of handling on the street. I have almost wiped out the car on several occassions after WOT boost runs going about 60+ hitting a dip or bump in the road the back end voilently wobbles back and forth until I have to lift. While street racing an unknown Vette one day the Vette guy actually let out of it and moved to the far right lane to get out of the way thinking my car was about to take flight. My conclusion is that the front springs do not help counter act the quicker stiffer rear springs causing the back to bounce around from side to side with no help from the front. Running with slicks help absorb some of the recoil so I don't see the problem at the track. I've also change bushings out and boxed the control arms so I ruled that out.
I'm going back to regular stock springs. Moroso's are fine for the track but don't run them on the street. Mis matching springs along with faster reacting radial tires make for a wickid ride.

springs

I/m not sure of the manufacter of these springs (they are blue in color) believe they are made in midwest. I talked to the factory, but they refered me to a store in Texas as they don/t sell to the public.
These springs are not magic, they will not give you a new car ride. What they will do is allow the front end to lift, and still keep the fender off the tire.

If you buy these, DO NOT start trimming the coil as they will settle with street driving.

I have these on the front with factory coils on the rear. QA1 on all four corners. ATR rear bar with the front bar removed.

During street driving I set the coils on #3---pretty firm ride, but handles fine on the open road.

At the track, I put RF shock on 0 LF on 4
RR on 4 LR on 0

Car lifts level, leaves straight and drives straight.

That all I know about that.

I'm also trying to decide what spring/shock combo to run. I was considering the moroso's and Koni's. Lee, how do you like your QA1 shocks? I'm actually thinking of trying their coil conversion for the fronts. I'm trying to lower the car maintian street handling and still get the low 1.40/high 1.3 60's on slicks. I figure the matched coil/shock with adjustable ride hieght would be the way to go but the kit is $$$. If I go this route I still don't know what rear spring to run. Do you know what spring rates are for the springs you mentioned and did it lower the ride hieght?

?

Love the QA1. A lot of $, but IMO worth it. You get what you pay for. The Blue springs lowered the front, maybe 1- 1.5 in. I would steer away from the coil conversion. I just helped my friend install a set on his big block 88 Olds Cutlass. With it adjusted to stock ride height---stiff as a board. He is very unhappy with them. Still deciding what to do.

Thanks Lee. I have the Koni's now and while the versatility of teh QA1 shocks would be nice I wonder if the overall performance is worth the extra $65/ shock. I'm going to call that company about the springs. I'm going to steer clear of the coil over for now till I get more info. One other idea about springs. Has anyone tired a new set of NA, non-AC regal v-6 springs? The extra wieght of turbo engine would bring the ride height down and the spring rate might be enough compromise for strip and handle well enough for the street. Any thoughts?? Anyone know of a good site for comparign springs and spring rates?
