Like the location on Montes and new cars.
Any one ever do this to a T-Regal?
Did you use the OE mirrors?
seriously considering doing this.

had a few montes, always liked the 86 and up mirror. way sharper than on the buick.

Like scott said, happening as we speak. Looks much better. I used a C4 convertible mirror and in the new spot its amazing how much better it looks and how much more you see out of the mirror. We used the front hole which became the rear and drilled new holes in front of it. Its as far forward as you can go without major modification because of all the different seams and pinch welds in the door any further forward. Really makes it more modern looking

Pictures please

Always thought the GN mirrors were the same as my '81 Z28. They sit side by side in the garage so I guess I should pull the cover off the camaro and compare.

same basic design going back to the early 70's, but the angle where they mount to the door will probably be different... the 86-88 Monte mirrors are probably the best looking ones for a G body, since they were designed for a G body.. thrid gen (82-92) F body mirrors look similar to the Monte mirrors, so that might be another cheap option- and they were available with electric adjustment guts in the later years, too. i know i read a writeup a while back on MCSS about putting the later F body electric guts into the Monte housings and it was a literal bolt in..

looks like i am not the only nut job on here
and lucky me the hoarder in me has a set of Monte SS mirrors stored in garage for the 20 years,
HMM time to go searching.

how much did they move forward ? about 2 inches?

Forgot to take a picture, was actually holding the camera and Scott Atk showed up and I spaced it hah. I'll get one this week for you

one thing to keep in mind when you move them: i believe they put a support behind the spot where the mirror mounts to support it.. you should either move it or copy what they did at the new location to make sure the weight of the mirror doesn't warp the doorskin..

Not that I saw. It's just a stud on the mirrors and a bolt on the other side. The sheet metal is stout enough with the curve and bodly line there
