MS3-Pro! The next great thing in Turbo Buicks?

Im torn on how to feel about this. On one hand those who choose to go this route will miss out on the learning that comes with assembling the kits. On the other hand it will be nice to see more people using the MS3 architecture which will no doubt provide advances in its capability.

I know how you feel! I remember watching my Son-In-Law assemble and wire up his MS3x on his LC2 powered Mazda, and thinking to my self, would this be something I would really want to tackle??

The new year came alittle early, the MS3pro is now available.

I have a TR running completely sequential injection and COP(ls coils), with one of the adapter boards I made for my buick installs.

But I would recommend using the BOB board that DIY sells(much more refined than mine) with the ECU only, and some Ampseal connectors/pins.

Oh, and add a bluetooth module inside the BOB for wireless, logging and tuning.

Are you using sd or maf tuning and how are you datalogging?

I only like to tune Speed density, but that is me.

I am logging to an SD(secure digital) card plugged into the MS3.

I prefer SD as well as it is much more tune friendly and cleaner looking with no MAF. Though in the case of my Turbo 2-Stroke sled I am using MAF as SD/Alpha-N would not work well. I am still working on getting my head around tuning MAF with it.

Add me to the interested list. I ran a megasquirt in an old 95 turbo Cobra years ago. I just dont know if I'd trust myself with the tuning anymore:oops: Powerlogger and TT chip seems so much easier...

They are even offering the MS3 pro, as a module like the Microsquirt has been offered.

Now, I plan on using this with the revised verison of the breakout board I made for the factory case, and ECM header to make a factory looking and fitting MS3, just have to figure out how to get the COP wiring out under the hood using the Factory harness stuff.

The "best of both worlds"???:D
My TR w/ LS power...........I'm going to use MS on it. [Actually, a clapped out 86, for a "test vehicle". ]
I'm about 30 min from Matt, [ an hour from DIY, in Suwanee], and have the time to travel around to make this work.
Sent him an email.. No response as of yet.

You shouldn't have to travel around, getting a tune for you to begin with will be easy.

The tune I sent Denmah(Matt), to start with, will work for the third gen engines(LS1,L33,truck engines(24 tooth engines),etc.)
Plus, I have start up calibrations for the gen iv engines(58 tooth) also, These engines won't be a problem at all with the Microsquirt,or MS3pro.

The older MS3x stuff ,and the aluminum cased stuff is a little more difficult to get setup, and triggering, but with those guys around you, it can be "do"able.

If you need any input, email,or PM me.
I am worrking on a GN LSx conversion myself(street car with air, power steering,4l80e,and an 88mm turbo), a tube chassis 3rd gen Camaro twin turbo(same set-up as my Nova Wagon), and a 67 nova conversion to name a few.

There is also acouple of really cool devices out,and coming out.

One is like the Scanmaster, but it is in a round guage format, and reads CANbus signals from the MS2/Microsquirt/MS3

file.php

The other is out already and it is a CANbus expansion device, that will read the Innovate serial stream for 8 O2 sensors and send it to the squirt VIA the Canbus, It will also read 8 EGTs and send them to the Megasquirt variants with the Canbus built into them.

and at 299.oo it is not real expensive.

I'm super excited to get this gauge! Cortina hasn't confirmed if it will be a 2-5/8 though I'm guessing it will be.

I have one right here, it is the smaller gauge size, the standard 2 + 1/16th gauge size.

The one I have and those in the pictures are slightly different than the gauge coming out,Tho.

There will be a button on the front, of the new revised design, that is not there on my Prototype one.

I'll ask James, but I think it should be soon.

It has been 5 months ago I got this one.

I like the processor dual core 50mhz? that is 4 times as fast as a fast or motec ecu wow!!

So it looks like we don't have any cars that are MS3-pro yet? I'm looking to put one in my car. I assume I can use the programs that Daniel posted from the previous gen MS3 to figure out the parameters, was he using a stock ignition on those programs? I won't need any extra optional boards anymore right?

And I assume we didn't come up with 10 people so we can do a pnp version? I see that I am located between Daniel & atomic 6(STL, MO), is there still a drive to do the foot work for a pnp or do we already know what the pinout needs to be, just need the cash for 10 units?

Sorry guys I have been disconnected from the board for a while so I haven't followed much here. Ironic there is talk about putting a MS3-Pro on a stock header since this is a project I've been working on for a while and will be getting a couple prototypes out to key people in the next month or two. It will be better than a plug and play from DIY since it will have built in Bluetooth wireless and will be in a factory ECU enclosure so it will be good for the buick racing classes that require stock ecms or ecms in stock cases. I don't want to talk much more on it yet but I'm pretty excited to get this out there since it will be a great relatively low cost option that will blow away the current plug and play buick options.

The main adapter board will look something like the one attached.

,Dan
