Gents,

Ok. So the car is up and running but there are still some bugs that need to be worked out. I want to get the turbobuick community's insite! So here we go:

Engine:

Car starts up and runs fine. Once it heats up, there are a couple problems. First, if I hit the throttle hard and back off, the car almost stalls out. This happens whether I am moving or just throttling it in park.

Second, after car is @ operating temp, if I roll up to a red light or stop, stoich gage is reading full rich and car is idling rough. All of a sudden, gage will start to cycle and car smooths out. I know the car needs to be tuned better but I have it good enough to run. I am thinking that it may be to either the car loading up or something to do with my extensive intercooling piping I have on the car.

Third, after I car gets to operating temp, it does not want to start. The battery can barely turn the motor over. Inital timing is dead on and battery has full charge. Starter is brand new and have the starter covered with a blanket. I am thinking the motor may be in some sort of a vapor lock? I am only running 1 breather on the car due to my up and down pipe covering the breather hole on the passenger side.

Fourth, again, after the car gets to operating temp, when I hit the throttle and let off, the throttle body almost acts as if someone is holding it open. It seems like maybe a vaccuum problem or something? Do our cars need to have a BOV on them? Thought those were only for manual cars. Thoughts?

Transmission:

I have a TCI TH350 Streetfighter transmission installed in the car. I am pretty sure that I overfilled the tranny because it decided to puke about 1.5 quarts all over the exhaust. I drained an additional quart out and heated up tranny. Fluid was @ half hash mark. Drove car around and had no issues. Parked the car on Sept 13 and just got it out yesterday. Fluid all over the garage floor again. Drove the car about 2 miles and parked it for 4 hours... no tranny leak. My question is has any one else had this problem with the TH 350s? I have a tranny cooler on it but it is mounted underneath the car. I did wire up a fan to the cooler as well. Getting nothing out of the dipstick tube. All the fluid is coming out of the vent tube. Thoughts?

As always, any help is much appreciated!!!
Thanks for reading my novel! I hope you have some insite for me. :D

More info

Just thinking out loud. Sounds like you have multiple problems but they all seem to relate to engine load. Make sure you dont have water in the oil (head gasket). Have you checked the plugs? What do they look like? You said you just got it back together. What did you do to it?

Mtocrs1,

No water in engine oil. That I am sure of. I havent checked the plugs yet. I just finished the car after a 6 year build.

Stage,

I thought that too but the car runs pretty good. It is really loading up or running rough at idle. I still have yet to tune this thing perfect. I know with a tune, she will run well. I may take you up on your offer to help tune it. I do have a F.A.S.T. WB O2 sensor installed... just havent logged my data yet. Also, I dont have anything to check BLM... etc. You interested?

TPS and IAC

FreeBoost,

As far as I know. I set the TPS about 3 years ago but havent checked it lately. The IAC... I never changed it at all. Just took it out of my old TB and installed it into my new one.

Update!!!

Ok kids,

So. I had my buddy Joe come over with his laptop to tune the 85. Here is what we found:

* Car is still running a little rich but is ok. Static pressure @ 42 PSI
* Found a vaccuum leak... good ole' golf tee took care of that!
* IAC counts are @ like 66-68 (way to high)
* TPS voltage (.45 @ idle, 4.80 @ WOT) WOT a little high too.
* Throttle body is still acting funny... holds open a little until you kick it
down like you would a carb. acts like return spring is not pulling throttle
plate back.

If you throttle the car after it gets to operating temp, it still stalls out. Very hard to start after that.

Joe and I are thinking that my throttle body is bad. I bought it off of someone here a long time ago. It is the stock throttle body bored out to a 62MM.

Also, I am runnning 50lb injectors in the car. Think they may be a little too high for my combo? Thought of going down to 42's. Just thinking out loud...

Thoughts?

TB could be egg shaped due to the clamp being too tight. That will give you idle issues and the golf tee...thats just temporary right...
