Hello and Good Afternoon! I would like some opinions. I will post my worst and best times to date in the 1/8th and my mods and would like some opinions on whether the times are good for my combo and what they would equate to in the 1/4 mile. The best time was 8.039 with a trap speed of 94.795. The reaction was .033 and the 60 ft was 1.994. The worst time was was 8.997 at 81.665 with a short of 2.272 and a reaction of .397. This runs were with a PTE 52, CAS V-4, 009's, 3" super single, HD Wastegate, 20 psi of boot on the best time and 17 on the worst. These runs were spinning wildly and were with the stock torque converter. What do you think- are the times and traps ok for my combo? What in the quarter ( roughly) Thanks and have a great day!

I have the same turbo, and injectors as you do. My best was an 11.58 @ 116. 60' time 1.69 1/8th mile was 7.42 @ 94. If your not running on slicks, you should be. Your car will not reach its potential without them. your 60' time is WAY slow. That turbo needs a higher stall converter to work its best.

I agree with the previous poster about your 60s. Work on getting them lower and your times will improve dramatically. Also, 8.0 in the 1/8 is way slow for a 94mph trap speed. You should be pushing mid 7s when you hook up. Now, if only I could get in the 7s too. :p

Reaction time has nothing to do with it!!!

How in the world can you run 94 mph one run and about 82 in another??--that's seems to be a problem

Slicks or no slicks---gotta figure out the MPH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Geoff

Nearly 95 mph on 20 psi of boost is great. Are the heads ported?

If your car picks up good on the top end, then you could be running 122 MPH in the 1/4.
just last night a buddy and i were at the track running 7.6 at 94 to a 11.6 at 122 in a TTA, obviously this car picks up alot in the top end and it was only getting 1.86 sixty foots-
since you have a D5 convertor, are you locking it up during 2nd and 3rd for more MPH?

ghall- im sure the reason for the low MPH on the 81 MPH run was due to a serious lag with the 52 TURBO and a stock torque convertor- he got a 2.2 sixty on that pass- probably was real doggy out of the hole and didnt pick up till 2nd gear.

is the car able to build any boost off the line with the 52?
let me know if not, maybe i can help out-

Hello! Thanks for your replies! The posted speeds were different of the amount of boost ( 17 vs 20 ) and the launch. These times were also with a stock converter ( loc-up ) and I think that has a lot to do with the higher trap speed vs the semingly high et. I will expect mid to low 7's now that I have a better converter ( Art Carr 2800 ) and some other changes (tires and chips). The car has drag springs and shocks and weight transfer is great- the power just overwhelms the tires. The car has stock heads, but the intake upper and lower have been cleaned up. I have worked on this car seemingly daily and I am about to get there! I want to max out this combo and then go to larger injectors and maybe more stall. No use in doing this until I get traction. Thanks again and have a great day.

Sorry Bryan-I forgot your question. No boost of the line. The tires start spinning just stalling the converter. I already have s-10 wheel cylinders and the brakes are tight. I just need a line lock!
