While out of town for the weekend, I noticed I was burning a fair amount oil out the tailpipe. Got back to my motel and a friend and I pulled off the air intake and found oil in the inlet bell, along with a fair amount of shaft play.
I've got the old unit almost off, and am going to contact a rebuilder in my area to see if they have parts available (they do all things diesel, so I'm sure they can help me out) to freshen this Garrett thing up. My car is a .030 over block with bolt-ons, and I want something simple to install back on, whether it be my unit rebuilt, or an upgrade.
If I want a bolt-in stock style upgrade replacement, what should I be looking at? TA49? As I said, the car isn't a race car, but it does have a fair amount of bolt-on performance parts installed.
