hi all im new here and well i just picked up an '85 regal t type, the car is all original, 88k miles, and in good shape for some reason the car wont start, it cranks strong but wont fire, turns out im not getting any spark, ive yet to check the injector pulse though, i replaced the crank sensor and to no avail it still didnt work , i bought the car off a friend of my cousins who drove it everyday as a DD till it jsut quit on him, him and his father replaced the Computer Control Coil Ignition box, or so they say, im at a dead end , any help would be GREATLY appreciated , Semper Fi

Welcome to your worst addiction!!! :biggrin: Where are you located? These cars can run you into the dirt with problems. Also post as much info as you can on the car (ie. any mods?) Hope some of the hotair guys will chime in. You may check the fusable links off the batt. Also what are you skills with electrical problems? No shame we all start somewhere. Do you have a good volt ohm meter? Sorry for all the questions but this way we can get you back on the road if we know what you are capable of. Good luck Jon Hanson

hi and thanks, im From Northern New jersey, Rutherford to be specific , as for my experience, i have a little bit of general knowledge, my uncle and cousin that are helping me and also storing the car for me are very knowledgeable with cars, so if you guys make any suggestions , at least one of us can check upon it, as for mods the car is totally stock other then a pair of home audio system speakers wired into the rear deck speakers

Well my 86' is an intercooled setup so I am not well versed in the hotair cars. I would start on gnttype.org it has some good info you just have to dig sometimes to find it. Did the car just quit? While running or turned off and never restart? Did it run rough before it quit? You said it has no spark. You may need to ohm out the coil pack. I will see if I can come up with some links to help. Also a couple of things to know. #1 GROUNDS these cars can remove hundreds of dollars from your wallet in parts only to find there is a bad ground somewhere. Passanger side back of the head to the fire wall. #2 if the bulb goes out in the dash for the idiot light alt or charge (can't remember what is reads) the alt will not charge.
