I've got the motor apart and I'm looking for a site thats a one stop shop for a complete engine gasket overhaul.

Anyone ever purchase one before? What is the best brand to go with? I'm thinking fel-pro?

thanks,
Derek

I dont know if your going to find a complete engine gasket set that is going to have the "right" head gaskets in them.
Its sometimes better to piece things together and end up with better results that to shoot for convenience.

Now what brand would you recommend for certain areas?
I have the motor out and I'm slowly taking everything apart cleaning it up and will shortly be pieceing it all back together

I prefer the Victor Reinz 3797 head gaskets over the Felpro version. The V-Rs have a wider steel fire ring. Felpro paper gaskets are superior for all other locations. The neoprene rope replacement for the rear main is needed, I like to get cork or hard rubber valve cover and pan gaskets not the wet noodle soft ones that squish out over time. Rock auto is a good source to buy gaskets a la carte.

NOS4GN/Highway Stars has a complete set with GM head gaskets - perfectly fine, not need to piece together.

Awesome thats exactly what I was looking for.

Have you had any experience with those? I'm assuming its the crummy rope seal and cork valve cover gaskets.

Yes. Thank you. Im doin the same with regasketing the engine, & I was being told that "NO ONE" makes a complete gasket kit for the 87 Grand Nationals. Thanks again for posting up the link.;)

Is the victor reinz better than the factory metal GM head gasket?

Opinions will vary wildly. I have heard Victor Reinz is an OEM manufacturer of some GM gaskets. Some swear by FelPro 9441 - I prefer GM. I did use a mix of FelPro and Victor Reinz on my motor, with GM headgaskets.

All can work, it comes down to proper installation, torque and especially a correct tune.

Fullthrottle sells a nice kit that has Victor Reinz graphite head gaskets. Comes with everything except an intake gasket. Good price for all you get though.

Thank you I like the price of that set better. Plus I can piece together other gasket areas like the intake and rear main with a more heavy duty seal

Victor Reinz was/is the OEM gasket for the GN the metal ones ,mentioned was for the 85 and earlier cars and are discontinued for years now. If a metal gasket is desired RJC has a nice version.

I may have used 15 of those Kit, it's the best bang for your buck . I think they are under hurdred dollars! No issue at all!!!!
