Type K is a Type K?
A while back I installed a CruzPro EGT gauge only to discover later that although it supported Type K or Type J, it required a non-grounded or insulated probe.
The probe I ordered from Westach, the same one they supply for their analog EGT gauge, is a NON-insulated type. When I learned about the 'insulated' requirement from CruzPro, I phoned up Westach and they quickly said "no prob, we make em both, but supply non-insulated for our own gauge." And shipped me an insulated one (and 6' leads too compared to 4' for the first probe).
The point here is - does this Extech require an insulated or non-insulated, or does it matter? If not known, what is the part # of the SMC probe, or the Westach probe which works with the Extech?
Reason I ask is, the CruzPro EGT was only $119 and has peakhold and alarm, BUT has about a 2-3 second delay which makes it useless as a tuning tool. I'm sending it back for a refund and will call Grainger for the Extech...
