I thought of a regular black pearl but maybe only a one time silver base coat though but definately deep dark black looks good.

Glad he's helping you out. I agree with you. Change it back to Black.

I'll give you a different sugestion. Not a bad looking car but it could use a little different mix in there. Here's some color ideas that may change your mind. Ignore the rust please, it's my parts car.

Get rid of the brown! Take a look at a 2005 Volvo S60R with the factory applied black and flake treatment.

Input on your paint job

I agree with youllose and gcgarny....the Grand Nationals look best in deep, dark black. When my '87 GN was painted, the painter added just a small "touch" of purple metalflakes, real fine, and it looks jet black, until the light catches it in certian way then you can see touches of purple metalflake, along with very, very small flakes of silver, red, blue. This guy did a great job of making it different in the way that you really have to look hard for something different...then, bam:eek: it shows some purple tint. In all pictues of it and in person...it's shiney jet black. Really hard to guess the paint is different. Kind of stealthy in a way. My wife LOVES it, I've never had a negative comment about the paint. Really cool this way. It's going to be a BITCH to find someone to match the paint in order to get the new front bumper fillers done. The painter has moved on to God knows where. Wish I could have this purple/black tint on the L-88 hood of my '69 Vette, as it's just a gloss black stripe, Baldwin-Motion style. I have no idea why the painter decided to be different with my paint job, but I sure love it...the consensus here is the brown on your car doesn't work too well. But, it's YOUR car...just remember you only live once...if you want to change it...can afford it...not happy with the brown, then damnit, change to black. :D You said you wanted honest opinion...only way to go....black. Now for the T-Types, any color goes and I've never seen one of those I didn't like. Maroon, blue, white, purple, red...those colorful T-Types just blows my mind. I lOVE those! I am referring to all those on this board who own those beautiful T-Types, they are all so gorgeous.

Sorry bud but i also agee with everyone else the color looks way too brown in all the pics like yullose said a GN only looks good deep dark black

Nice car you have there gczarny it looks great!!

and i agree nothing looks better on a GN than deep dark black paint

The brown over black looks just like someone couldn't make up their mind about what color to go with and threw them both together and came up with a cluster .... but that's just my opinion.

John

that brown would be an awesome color for a mid 80's Caprice or something- but it just don't look right on a GN.

Gonna have to be honest and say I don't like it at all. Can't put my finger on it but it just does not look correct on that car.

It looks like one of those colors one would see on a low rider. Just my $.02. But if u like it then keep it and screw what everyone says. At night it might actually look pretty good. It's ur car, only you have to look at it in ur garage.

If we all liked the same color then we would all be driving the same car. I'm not sure if it was wetsanded yet but if not then the quality of the paint or painter or both are poor.

It's a bummer its on a GN because some people would love to have that paint on their Cutlass, Monte, Chevelle. But, I'd change it back to black.
