I have a 109 short block that came out of my 87 T, I also have a tta short block I got from a buddy. My question is what short block is better than the other. I know the tta block has the cross driled crank, but I have a new eagle crank for the rebuild. What block has the stronger lower end. Any input would be great. Also are the rods and pistons the same? I know the heads were different. Thanks, Mike

TTA Vs. Stock GN

Hi,
We're talking sisters here. Both use the 109 block. If the crank isn't an issue, I'd blow up the GN shortblock first. The Eagle crank is probably Chinese metal, machined in the USA. As far as pistons are concerned, because the cylinder head chambers are different, the pistons are too.The rods are the same.Have fun!
