I am/was going racing this weekend so I took my T-Type out tonight to get the boost set and do a little tuning. I was on a fairly deserted highway and tesing my car on and off boost. I was easing along about 50 when a 96 Corvette conv. blew past me about 90, so needless to say I nailed it and caught up to him. When he noticed I was right with him, he nailed it and so did I. We went on like that for a little ways(I pulled right up on him and could have passed him when we first got on it!!!!) then we started to come into town so we slowed down. Once we got into town I noticed that my car was turning more RPM than usual. Then I realized that it didn't want to shift, it will shift but not until about 4k at the lightest throttle possible. It doesn't seem to slip and operates as usual in every way except it doesn't want to shift. Have I killed it, if so at least it went out in a blaze of glory!!! Another thing that I noticed right before the Vette came along was that the conv. didn't seem to be locking up, but I didn't get a chance to fully investegate that. Thanks Steve

Steve,

It sounds like you lost the spring out of the governor. You'll have to pull the trans pan to investigate. This won't have any effect on the torque convertor lock up problem you mentioned but if the spring is missing it will cause exactly what your saying.

Good Luck

Neal

Thanks for the info I will check into that. One thing I forgot to mention is that when I was running the car hard it seemed to kind of lurch a little. It wasn't too severe but definately noticeable. Not sure if that makes any sense or makes any difference. Thanks Steve
