Hello All,

I am not sure if this is the right area to post this question. If not I apologize in advance.

I am pondering on selling my 1987 GN and would like some idea of current value for this car.

The car is basically stock with only a few minor mods. I have had the car since the early 90's. It has always been garage kept. I have put less than 500 miles on it in the past 5 years.

The car was professionally painted a few years back. The body and paint are near perfect. The interior is very good, never smoked in, etc.

The car was never raced or abused.

Specs:

-1987 Buck GN Hard-Top
-87,xxxx miles (Mostly Highway)
-PW, PL, PS, AC - All good
-Original rims, BF Goodrich Comp T/A's
-KB Cold air intake
-KB 2.5" Dual Exaust
-KB Shift Kit
-High performance fuel pump
-Hypertech Chip
-Adjustable Fuel Reg
-Adjustable Wastegate
-High pressure intercooler hoses
-Custom made intercooler scoop
-Heavy duty oil cooler
-Misc dress up Bits, here and there - Nothing major.

It is basically a very, very clean Stock GN. Runs stong, well tunned, rides like new. NOTHING is wrong with other than AC needs charged.

Everything was maintained to a high standard, If parts needed fixed or replaced all parts replaced were OEM or better.

It has a few things that need taken care of before I would put up for sale.
-New headliner, falling down like all GM 80's cars.
-Small Leak - rear main seal.
-Fuel gage is off, need to pull sender out of tank and check.
-New valve cover gaskets.

It probably just needed to be driven a little more over the years.

I would sell if I think the price is reasonable?? I dont really know as I have been away from these cars for some time and my interests have shifted to other things.

I dont want to do EBAY, not sure about Autotrader, Craigslist, etc...??

If anyone here is interested I can send pictures and we can talk. I can give any details, history, etc as I have owned it for a long time.

I am in the early stages with this and trying to feel my way out there for value interest, etc.

Thanks for any help or ideas.

I

BOUGHT ONE IN PHILLY LAST JULY WITH 87000 ON HER MOSTLY STOCK GOOD RUNNING ,CLEAN INSIDE AND OUT FOR for $ 11,000 ITS THE ONE IN MY ALBUM AND IS NOW A CLONE OF AN X . HOPE THIS HELPS

If its that nice with fresh paint my guess was around $15k.

What about the big auction houses? I would restore it back to bone stock.
..

Depending on how nice it is, I would say a low of $9500 to a high of $14K.

GLWS.

With 10 listed mods I wouldn't consider the car "stock" anymore. That being said with the deficiencies fixed I'd say somewhere around $12,000 is ballpark.

That sentence right there is worth a pretty penny as so many for sale need paint and it's a long and expensive process! Personally, throw it on Craigslist/Ebay and shoot for $15K...this site doesn't always bring the most money when selling, just being honest! I sold my TTA in a week on Craigslist for more than this board would of fetched at the time....PLUS, you got the "Spring fever" now so it's a great time to sell.

why sellin now? are u completely gettin out of TRs?
send me some photos please gauditec@yahoo.com thanks, Carmelo

I think I should have sold a few years ago when prices seemed a little higher on these cars. I cant belive how low some of these are going for now? However a lot of the ones I see are nowhere as nice, body and paint wise and have been modded to death (which in it's self is not a bad thing).

Some more background on the car....

The car was completely stripped down, any dings or dents were removed, then the car was shot with base coat / clear coat total of 10+ coats.

It is still better than new, not a single scuff, scratch, dent, etc. I woul say the paint and body is a 9+. Under hood is maybe a 6-7, needs some TLC. Underbody is strait, no rust, never seen fowl weather, snow etc...

I bought the car in 91-92 with a little over 40K on it, I put the rest of the miles on it, almost all of the miles have been easy highway miles. Never been down a track!

Always ran 100% synthetic oil, does not burn drop. Compression is good, motor is tight, tranny shifts great. Mechanically nothing wrong.

If someone wanted to mod the thing it is a great unmolested strong running car to start with. But I feel the strong selling point is that the cars exterior and interior are beautiful!! So you would be almost there for a nice weekend show car or if you wanted to build it up into something quicker, It would be a Nice show and more Go car! Whatever your fancy!

I have a $$ in mind that I would sell it for, if not it will just go back into the garage under cover. I dont really need to sell it.

My interests & lifestyle have shifted to other things, so I dont really dirve the car anymore and would like to see it go to a good home and be enjoyed by someone else like I have for years. It really needs to be seen and driven more than I do.

Hopefully this weekend I can get some current photos taken and posted. Waiting for some sunny days to get here:cool:

depends how good the paint is. id say $11-12k if the paint is good. if the paint is great maybe $12-13k
