Come on Julio!!! ONLY???? Well.... maybe 'sensor', but certainly not 'item' in that sentence...

MAF will also do this. And yes its 22 years old so anything and everything is possible. But he already swapped MAF :(

I had this very same gremlin in my car tta 365. The car would just turn off at random while cruising nice and easy on hwy or at idle at a red light. Really really annoying, then it would take ten min to decide to start. I replace the crank sensor and that never happened again, my old sensor was made in mexico and my new one was made in usa. That was at the end of last summer.

This summer the car would buck and pop when I got into boost around ten #'s. I too changed plugs, wires, tried swapping for a good ign coil and mod, none of that helped. I finally traced it back to a poor connection to the neg. battery terminal. I just cleaned and tightened it and problem solved.

Car now works great.

Jarred.

Grounds seem to be o.k.. I even put a ground wire from mod. to intake and still same thing. Still cuts out but the 10psi and acting like rev limiter has not done it since I repaired vac. leak at waste gate accu. (Y Lines)

Car runs great most of the time but sometimes cuts out. Does not really have to be under a load, just normal driving. Also, if you get in the gas around 3000 rpms and 10 psi boost it acts like you hit a rev limit and bucks. Has new f/p, hot wire, green tops, tt chip. Previous owner did a/c delco coil pack, module, and possible a cam sensor within the past 500 miles. Engine temp does not seem to matter, outside temp maybe. Thanks for the help.

Had the same problem a few years back, very intermittent, but at the same RPM & boost. As Julio and Steve said - crank position sensor. I ended up just having to clean the sensor - since it has a magnet in it (Hall switch) and attracts a ton of dirt. After I did that - never reared its ugly head again.

Double check your plug wires, I had the exact symptoms, found that my #6 wire was burnt from touching the header on the back side where it was hidden from view. I finally found it by reving the engine in the driveway at night. Because it was dark I could see a faint spark down behind the wire. Replace the wire the next day.....amazed! You may want to check all your wires one by one with an ohm meter just to be sure that you don't have any breaking down. BTW, my wires were only a few months old so I never suspected it could be a bad wire, just takes one small burnt spot.

OK OK OK... I can help!

Go ahead and yank that little v6 and install a new 502. It will fix all your problems! I will even haul that little 3.8 away for FREE for you. HAHA.... Here is a bump for ya! When you get it fixed we need to go to Rockingham or Fayetteville and run them. ;)

I would drop the car off at your cousins (via marriage) house in Harrisburg, NC for a few days and let him have a look... ;)
