its now several months later and over 2 thousand later the car has been made run again it has a lifter tick (very bad) or a exhaust leak and a rod knock at start up
some of these show the extent of the rust there is minimal floor left in the car a pillars in front of the rear wheels and doors (we have a new set not much better tho)

the car has a different motor in it it is a 109 block i think but the last three digits have been ground off the car has a limited interior i think the car has bench and bucket with console brackets under the junkyard carpet

I'm fixing the bottom of my doors, not too hard. I have some rust in my wheel wells too that I will need to work on.

The underneath of my car looks rust free though, seems like its just my doors and some of the quarters.

I guess it's up to you to decide what you're willing to take on.

I'll bet the knock you hear upon startup is loose torque converter bolts. The tick could be a lifter....but it's likely a cracked header....which unfortunately if fairly normal for these cars.

torque converter bolts are tight and the manifold is cracked on the passenger side manifold

Only reason I asked is because I had a vigilante converter in my hot air car a while back and I used the stock converter bolts....they were just long enough to get snug...but not tight before they bottomed out....would rattle on startup and then be fine. Just throwing the idea out there.....

yeah idk the torque conver does not move against the flywheel as you see in my sig the car has been mismatched back together several times the trans is a th350

I couldn't move mine by hand....might throw a washer on each bolt and see if the rattle goes away.....easy to do and worth a try...
