Guys,
This turbo recently came off a friend's car. He was not sure what it was and neither am I. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

well it has a P-Trim exhaust wheel, an "e" Compressor cover and probably a 60mm compressor wheel.....

(I dont think you can mate anything smaller than a 60mm to a P wheel.... or it would be hard to balance...... and i am pretty sure a 60-1 turbo is 60mm P-Trim)

On the compressor cover, what size is the inlet and outlet?
Is it 3" inlet, 2" discharge? (TO4E series)
For reference.

This pic is a Garrett E cover.

And this is a Precision casted E cover, on a Billet 6262 turbo.

Or is it 3" inlet, 2.5" discharge? Older Garrett cover.

That looks like an older Garrett TE series compressor cover. Very similar to my first ever turbo. I had a TE63-1 that had that type of comp cover. 3" inlet, 2.5" discharge. The spacing between the inlet and the scroll give it away.

Here is a picture of an older T70-1 turbo next to a stock turbo.

It looks like the same style compressor cover as yours.
Also, that could be a Limit Engineering turbo. Especially with that compressor cover, cast aluminum fined backing plate and a Precision turbine housing. My guess is, it's a larger than a 63.

P.S.
(Just got confirmation on this one, it's a 66 P-trim turbo. Thanks Jim.)

Thanks for the help guys. It is a 3" inlet and 2.5" outlet. I measured it tonight and it is indeed a 66mm wheel. Patrick, what do you feel is the performance potential of this turbo? How was your old 63mm the you mentioned? I traded into this one and thought about upgrading one of my cars with this one.

My turbo T has a Garrett E cover like the one that you've pictured. I measured the wheel on it tonight and it's approx 59mm. I've had a TE62 on it a couple years ago before I sold it to a friend. It went an 11.12 @ 124 with a bone stock engine with the that turbo. Once the turbo went down, they bolted on this little E cover turbo and it slowed to 11.40 or so. I just bought the car back and would like to get the performance back to where it was, or maybe .013 better than before. ;-) Here's the current turbo below. Thanks again for your help!

The 66 p-trim turbo was a mid to high 10 second turbo with bolt ons, heads and cam. It is a circa 1995ish turbo and there are better aerodynamic wheels available that will out perform it. It would need a good converter, that's for sure. I took my TE63-1 into the low 11's before the motor finally gave up and spun a rod bearing.
