87 GN STOCK TURBO,F/M INTERCOOLER, 3'' DOWN PIPE, STOCK INJECTORS,NEW TT CHIP, CAR RUNS GOOD TILL THS BOOST GETS ABOUT 15 THEN IT STARTS TO MISS OR CUT OUT IF NOT LET OFF OF BOOST IT WILL POP I DID JUST PUT NEW PLUGS IN AC CR42TS GAP .035. IT DIDNT DO THIS WITH 43'S IN IT. SCANMASTER #'S IDLE 02-52,TPS-.42,WOT-4.04,MAF 4,LV8-28, INT 128 BLM 142 2.1 RETARD DEGREES THE CHIP IS NEW PUT IN TODAY DID THIS BEFORE ICHANGED THE CHIP. THE CHIP WAS BURNED FOR THE CAR AND WHAT I HAVE ON IT. FUEL PRESSURE IS 43 WITH VAC LINE OFF. PLEASE HELP:redface:

What did you have the old plugs gapped at? You may tighten up the gap a little and see what happens.

Had The Old Plugs Gaped At .035 But They Were 43's Seems To Have Started When Changed Plugs , Intercooler, And Down Pipe , Runs Great Till You Get Into The Boost Say Over 14 Just Dosent Have Any Power Then Havent Checked Fuel Pressure At Wot Does Have A Walbro430 May Be Its Bad Was In Car When I Got It

Not sure where to start but, first thing do a search on "spring cleaning". It'll tell you how to do a basic tune up. Your WOT TPS # looks like your not getting full throtle. This wont allow the car to go in to power enrichment mode. If you can get your WOT TPS # above 4.5 volts by going full throtle at the throtle body, then check to see if your gas pedal is mashed into the carpet. A thick floor mat might be the problem. It could also be a stretched cable due to 20 years of flogging. If this is the case theres a way of takeing up the slack in the cable at the gas pedal with small tie straps around the end of the cable. What are your O2s at WOT? If your running pump gas (91-93 oct) with out alky inj. then 15-17 lbs. boost is about all your going to get with out knock. You said stock inj? are they the originals? If so, then now might be a good time to upgrade. I think Eric will adjust your chip for them for little or no money for the first few months. Your WOT miss could be ignitoin. How old are your spark plug wires? Coil pack maybe?

Good luck...

Welcome!

I'd start with the basics. recheck the plugs, regap them at abut 33 if you want to, but 35 should be good to 15PSI of boost. Do you have a boost gauge? If not, you need an accurate one.

When I had popping, it was the plug wires. If you don't know the history of your plug wires and they don't look completely new, replace them.

Your WOT voltage is OK where it is, worry about that later.

Do a search on 'grounds.' Yoiu could have loose grounding points. research where they are and inspect and clean each one. That alone could clear the popping.

Personally, I'd set the FP to 45 PSI line off.

dont know how old plug wires are they are taylor brand ? took couple off at coil pack inside of boot looks bad rusty connectors on coil look dull tarnished what brand and where to get good wires?

I like to get universal wire kits and make them myself....
do a search and you'll find hundreds of posts with a variety of sources. Several board members make them ...Use dielectric grease on all the connections when you install plugs or wires, that will reduce the corrosion and make it easier to disassemble when the time comes.

got new wires not on yeat, checking fuel pressure at idle with vac hose off 43 hose on 38 ,wot 15lbs boost 41 psi chip is tt said to set pressure at 43 h /off could it be a bad fuel pump scanmaster say volts are 13.0

Your fuel pressure should go up from the baseline one PSI for each pound of boost (i.e., baseline of 43 and 10 PSI of boost should yield 53 PSI of fuel pressure)....Your regulator or fuel pump is suspect. Go to Steve Woods site for a lot of basic information and some specific ways to check yoiur pump and regulator.
