Ok just finished my te63-1 install with bigger injectors, modified ecu, and chip. I got the car running and when I get into it, it only see about 2-3psi on the boost gauge. I hooked up the wastegate and compressor vac. line to the factory boost solenoid and left the one next to it completly open. I checked the wastgate actuator and it appears to be opening with a tool that I have here at work. I also checked all my intercooler connection for any possible leaks by taking carb. cleaner and spraying it on the IC couplings to watch for a stall or high rev in the motor. Still no luck with any of the tests that I have done. My vac. gauge is showing 10 inches of vac. at idle, shouldn't I be seeing atleast 15 at idle? Any suggestions? Thank for your time.

yes I do and the rod is almost fully extended.

you do realize the rod needs to be shortened to keep the wastegate closed... fully extended would produce very little boost.

I know it is simple... but had to ask.

you need to tighten it up fully extended will only give you 2-3lbs of boost actuator uses pressure to open up the waste gate...fully extended does not require much pressure to open up the puck....shorten the rod
;)

ok,first check for exhaust leaks pre-turbo , then check your boost gauge too see if there is any leaks ,was the turbo new? if not you might have a bad bearing or broken exhaust blade , saw that before !

I dont have any exhaust leaks except on the driver side header and the turbo is brand new. I will try the wastegate when I get off of work. Thanks everyone, I appreciate the information.

you have to fix that leak ,that might be your problem depending on how bad your leak is.

my money is on the rod.
I agree. With the rod fully extended, the puck is probably off the seat, so the turbo is in "bypass"- if it were a smaller turbo, it might not boost at all.

yup, just went throught the same thing, didn't want to put to much boost on my new motor, so I had it backed all the way off, and when I tried to build up boost it would only make 4 psi, tightened it up to where the puck was barely seated on the turbo and made 18psi, no knock, no alky, 93, oh yeah!

Thanks alot everyone for your information. I tightened the rod and was able to see 15psi, now all I have to do it get rid of the knock that I am seeing. Thanks alot guys.
