Need help with installing my grille

My buick suffered from abit of damage to the grille surround when it got backed into last month, but i have it painted and ready to be installed now. my question is, how far is the gap between the grille surround and the vertical runners of the grille at the very top supossed to be? basically, how low does the grille hang from the surround? I measured out 1/2," everything seems to fit up decent, but it still doesn't look right to me. any help would be appreciated. tia

There's really not a lot of adjustment you can make on them, pretty much if all 3 bolt holes line up that's it. There is going to be some space between the header panel and the grille, without having a car here to measure I'd say 1/2' sound about right though.
