hey guys whats up...i been fooling around with this intake adapter my friend and i made at work...can someone post pics for me so you all can see and tell me what you think...thanks vinny

thanks brent...so when you guys see this adapter it is my version or basically a copy of the spearco intercooler adapter that goes into the intake...i think it will work good.once i check the fit i can cut it down to size and use a 90 degree intercooler hose...to adapt to the pipeing and make a bracket too hold it in place...then i have too come up with pipeing...maybe pvc or what else can i use????also i am going too use the stock 87 intercooler...i was thinking of cutting the bends and making the cooler straight...is there anyone that can do this???
getting back too the adapter...i beleive there will be no trouble with flow....i made it with a stock adapter(thanks sean)cut it at the bottom, the widest part and welded it to this piece of aluminum tube(tube is a sleeve for air operated door motors found on all your buses and some trucks out there today)should be able too get them at heavy duty truck and bus parts outlets.
so tell me what do you think???thanks vinny

Nice job on that...

But if you can still modify it a bit, I have a suggestion...

Around the end where you will connect the hose/hose clamp, about a quarter inch from the end, weld a small bead, or even flare the end of the tube out a little if you can...That will help keep the air/boost from escaping past the seal...

Otherwise, nice job on it...

thanks jim.....thats a good idea....probably try a bead..cause im not sure i will have means of flaring it...hey let me ask ya...your conversion on the throttle body is that an 87tb?..vinny

Actually, it's off of an 86 fwd 3.8L motor...The only difference between it and the 86/7 GN/TR TB is a small minor difference in the casting and the 86/7 GN/TR TB has seals around the throttle blade shaft and a different throttle arm...

On my 86 fwd TB, I had to modify the heck out of the throttle arm and I had to fabricate the bracket that the cables mount on and get the right geometry and length of cable pull, etc...It was a PITA...I cut up a different bracket that I pulled off of a different car and re-assembled and welded and yada yada yada...It's not something that is a direct bolt-on from one car to another...I ended up having to find an accelerator cable off of another car that was long enough for what I needed...I re-used my TV cable...My TB setup is now more like the 86/7s...The cables pull from the backside of the TB instead of the front like on the 84/5 TB...So I now use an 86/7 TPS...
