I got a stage 1 motor, GN 1 alum heads. Completely done. The only thing is that I’m not going to race the car I’m only going to drive on the street.... I don’t know what kind of cam I should go with, what size cam what brand does anyone have any suggestions please I would appreciate the help
 
Call Tim Cole at comp cams and tell him what you are wanting out of your combo and he will be able to suggest a cam for you
 
I heard that Tim Cole has retired? Anyone have knowledge of that?

Don Cruz Performance has a Great Cam. I have one and it pulls very strong and has good drivability. Just an option. Tampa
 
You need to set a goal and match the turbo, cam, and converter to that goal. The worst thing you can do is over cam or turbo one of these cars.
 
Okay I’ve been working with Buick’s for alil while now and is there even a stage 1 motor? Is that just replacement 109 block ? I’ve heard of the blocks with stars cast on the side but have never seen a actual stage 1 block. Please post pictures and let me know the difference between a 109 block and a stage 1 block?

No. It is not a replacement 109.

For the most part, A stage -1 block is the same as an off-center stage-2 block but without all the holes drilled in it. Also, they normally came with cast 2 bolt mains. If you drill the additional 6 holes for the heads and machine and drill for 4 bolt mains......then you now have an off-center stage -2. Of course, there are variations to this description as well. Like most stage-1's have provisions for an internal oil pick-up. Also you can't convert the #1 or #4 mains to 4 bolt. The part number on the block is usually the same as the stage-2 off center 3.8's or 4.1's.
